Turnigy® dlux SBEC ESCs have set a new bench mark in quality and performance. Each ESC uses a twin PCB design separating the motor power supply, MCU and SBEC. This design allows for optimum component layout on each PCB and provides the ideal configuration for heat dissipation and thermal efficiency. Both PCBs are enclosed in a full aluminum heat sink casing to ensure maximum heat dispersion. All Turnigy dlux ESCs can be programmed via a programing card or by transmitter. Clear and easy to understand instructions are included.
*Now featuring data logging viewable when used with Turnigy dlux programming box.

I have one of these and mine doesn`t come with the govenor function, and I tried every thing to make my motor stop stuttering but I couldn`t get. I am very disapointed with these esc. If some one know how to solve the stuttering problem, I am using a turmigy 1100 kv in a 600gt heli, with 4.400 mha 6s batteries
The idea of not buying this ESC because it does not have data logging is to get HK to fix it so it does have it. All we need is to reprogram it most likely. Otherwise it and all the Delux ESCs are very good, I use them all.
I purchased a Turnigy dlux 100A SBEC Brushless Speed Controller w/Data Logging & Turnigy dlux Programming Box for a new project. The ESC runs the EDF motor I matched it to with no problems. The programming features appear to function correctly, but I was unable to view the advertised data logging functionality of this speed controller. Shame really as this is a feature that set this product aside from others when I was looking.
Anyone know if the turnigy program boxes that work for the hobbywing, speedpassion esc's work for these esc's i h ave tried programming by tones but the sheet stops corresponding to the actual tones as the soft start section.. Really need to setup soft start
You should get the proper programing box , the one with the lcd backlight screen works great , well worth the 10 bucks , makes programing so very easy. As for the ESC it has performed flawlessly for me , a very solid unit indeed built well with large heatsinks. Best ESC I ever bought Dlux is a good name for it , as it is Dlux in quality.
Gracias
I cant get this thing to work... even the 160amp HV Dlux wont work... I have the program box and tried every setting. I think the ESC cant handle the low KV motors. Something like that.
Here is a link of a vid I made showing what it does... its doing the same thing for the bigger ESC to..
Maybe the motor KV is to Low, Maybe the ESC only works on some motors?
The name brand ESC works fine... Please hobby king fix this!!!
I have a lot of planes to build and dont want to use Castle Creations.

I purchased 2 of these ESC's but I'm having trouble with both motors stuttering badly when the throttle is advanced quickly or if the throttle is advanced slowly and nears full throttle. I have one connected to a Turnigy G60 500KV motor using a 13 x 8.5 prop and have tried both 5 & 6 cell Lipo batteries. The other I have connected to a NTM Prop Drive Series 42-58 500KV Motor using a 15 x 8 prop and have tried both 5 & 6 cell Lipo batteries. I purchased a dlux programming box and have tried just about every combination of settings. I'm fairly new to flying so could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong or have I selected a incompatible combination of devices? Many thanks for any help.
GOOD NIGTH, I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MINE, AS I SAW IN THE REVIEWS ABOVE THERE ARE A PROBLEM WITH LOW Kv MOTORS I GUESS. I GUESS THE BEST CONFIGURATION IS FREQUENCY 8KHZ AND TIMING LOW. WITH THIS A COULD REDUCE THE stuttering A BIT BUT NOT AT ALL.
surging motor.
I have 100amp dlux esc and the prop drive 50\50 motor, 6cell. When powering up the motor surgs. I move the stick to full power and smoths out. to only slow to a lower rmp and stop. what could be the problem?
I can not get my esc to respond/turn on. it makes no sound on startup and does not power a motor, any ideas before I send it back? is there some special sequence on first startup?
cheers.
And tedbmoss, its ok, I know about the data logging and I'm ok with it.
disconnect the motor and put throttle to maximum on your transmitter - then power on the esc and let it do a full cicle of his beeps - after that turn off everything, do the same again, but during the first beep cycle put throttle to minimum...should work *)
I have two of these (1) 100 amp and the other 55 amp with no problems.the 100 amp is in my HK-600GT and the 55amp in my HK-450GT. Very pleased.Excellent price to!!
Hi thank you for your answer.
Finally I received mine and also does not have Data Logging.
Hking told me to send it back for inspection, but I've decided to use it without Data Log.
Hi, Kaisar,
good decision.
Except data logging is this ESC ok.
On 6S (with good, full charged Accus) can occur cut off in first minute of fly, if You run with full throttle more than 7, 8sec.
Enjoy.
i have got it since long time and i have never had problems..imagine i m using it for the mb339 fly fly with a battery turnigy 5000 mah 6s and a engine leopard hobby..just plugged and its absorbing just 70 Amp..i think for the price its really good!
so many confusing reply's half love it and half don't! is this a hit and miss product or are all the dislikes old first run ones? i want to use this ESC for a Habu 2 which i'm fitting a 70mm 10 blade 1300W 4s EDF that says max Amps 80, do you think this esc will be ok for this set up, if not could you please suggest one that might suit
cheers chuck
hey chuck, can you also post vids of your modified projects? i like your reviews vids of stock setups but also want to see stuff like your modded habu2
sfactor1 i am building the Habu 2 very slowly as it is just a project for a show i'm going to later in the year, when it's finished i will do a review video on it
Just received (Friday 5/10/12) my new Dlux Programming Box version 4.1(In stock NSW) but cannot get it to access the data logging system on my 2 Dlux 100Amp ESC's, both purchased with the Data Logging version feature , it works fine for programming but their is no menu showing up like in their Utube clip.
Has anyone work out how to access it, or do you have to connect up the box in different way to access it, as the their Data logging Utube clip doesn't show the connecting up to the box
Always connect up the same way. Data logging feature is only accdessable on the newest version of the programming box. I JUST recieved my box and I guess they are still cleaning out old stock becouse it will not access the logging features.
Thanks johnny66, well that raises Hkings AU distributors integrity as I had purchased 2x 100dlux and 1x 40dlux from them (I particularly wanted that feature for my heli’*s) which at the time of purchase stated in the heading /with Data Logging Feature but as AU was out of stock of the Dlux programming Box I could not check to see if they didn’*t have the feature (They do not show the other side of the ESC) I would have sent them back, but by the time it did stock the Box which Stated ‘*Now with Data logging Feature’* and as it was fresh new stock I expected to be able to use the data logging feature at last, but from what you have said, and I don’*t have the labeled feature on the flip side of the ESC, I have well and truly been “*done”* , so I now have 3 ESC’*s from them that are useless and are now beyond return date due to their slow restocking time of the programming box.
Should have gone with Castle ESC's
Ted your spamming the topic with your view!im using it on a habu 2 on 4s who cares really about data logging on a cheap foamy, not me! i just want a solid ESC that will work for the application i have chosen for it. i got the early program box too so it doesn't have the data logging anyway, might be the problem for others too? do you have the latest programming box?
chuck, your comment is not fair because hk specifically advertises it as having data logging. lots of people who would buy this esc would do so because of the data logging feature. fyi - lots and lots of people care about "cheap foamies." shouldn't you know that because you rep hh's foamies on utube and rcg?
If you don't understand governors purpose, that means you don't fly 3D.
Basicly without governor the head speed drops from fresh pack. That means, capability oh holding tail also changing.
With governor the head speed stays the same in all circumstances and gyro is capable hold the tail through all flight very well.
The first experience we had with one of these was in a 5S plane maxing at 45A. Motor started stuttering as we range checked the model. The addition of a ferrite ring to the ESC servo lead didn't cure the problem.
Replaced with a Turnigy 85A model Tz85A and the interference disappeared.
The owner not keen to purchase any more of this type of ESC.
I bought a few of these and the 55A verision for a project to drive KDA63-24L's but the motors only shutter at low speed. I am just testing my setup with a servo tester as a throttle, and no load on the motor. I can get the motor/esc to "sync" by adding some drag, or spinning it in the driven direction, but it's very inconsistent. I had the same problem with 25A TY-P1 ESC. However my 40A SuperBrain runs the KDA63-24L motors just fine, no matter the settings (soft start, timing, PWM rate, etc.) The Dlux's will turn my smaller motor no problem, and I've used multiple motors, ESC's and batteries to eliminate connection or manufacturing issues. Any thoughts or help? Is there a possibility of changing the programming on the microcontroller to match what the SuperBrain is doing?
This esc instruction sheet does not match the tones to program, where can I get the real programming procedure for this one? Don't want to get the program card. I want to change timing and pwm how do I do it from the stick?
Does this really have data logging? I have the programming box and can't get anything out of the esc, the box just enters normal programming mode. DOn't know if its the box or esc.
It seems like the model I was shipped doesn't have data logging. I can only get the normal programming options. However, my 55A Dlux has data logging easily accessible in the programming card. It also has an "extra" into screen that displays info about the esc, essentially a spec sheet (Model, Revision, Capacity, Battery limits, etc.)
Same programming box, two different esc's, two different results. I'm guessing it the esc. (Although I am confident the MCU has the hardware for data logging capability, just needs the code or communication link with the programming box
improved)
I have a Turnigy BL SK Series 50-55 580Kv / 1580w running a 15x8 Prop with this ESC the first few minutes of flight when full throttle is applied for a climb, response is OK, then after that when full throttle is applied the motor speed varies from high to medium* if at 2/3 or 1/2 throttle motor speed OK. I have try with Turnigy 5s 5000ma 30c battery and 6s 4900ma 25c Rhino battery, also try a 16x8 prop. Motor worked fine previously with an 80A Skywing ESC.
Can someone HELP…*. PLEASE?
great looking ESC, looks stunning on the heli, nice big bulky casing, well built and again an ideal SBEC for a first budget build, progammable and perfect for begginer usage and 3D usage, great product...nice price!!!

1 thumbs up!
I bought 2. One burned in flight after 5 minutes run (6S, 80 amps, 1400 watts). Luckily I only lost motor power, so I land safe. The other one burn after I tested on another setup (90amps, 6S, 2100 watts). The ESC goes in flame and the BEC fried all the electronic inside 5x Hitec 225MG 7ch. Spektrum and satellite. An expensive test run! In future, I will stick with the RED Brick 200 amps opto Castel Bec 10 Amps. It seems to be a bullet proof setup for 125 amps on 3 different projects for more than a year of operation.
using this with a G46 on an old 6.5lb Ugly Stick about 50a on 4s 800w and 60a on 5s 1000w (1308)

Little on the heavy side but, worked fine straight out of the box with my turnigy typhoon 1800kv. Was it overkill for my motor? YES!! Am I happy with my purchase ? YES!! My only gripe was the non-color coded wires but, it all got worked out.

no one should buy this unit as it does not have data logging. is hobbyking going to send me a replacement? I doubt it.
