This tiny Sabre is amazing, EPO foam combined with its featherweight stats means it will be very forgiving of the odd less than 100% landing. The 35mm Fan Unit & ESC are pre-installed as are the aileron and elevator servos, the model comes in 1 piece so all you have to do when it arrives is connect the control rods. The supplied 4 Channel 2.4ghz Transmitter is pre-bound to the pre-fitted micro RX to speed up set up time, the transmitter features servo reverse and trims for each channel.
The box the model arrives in is really handy for not only transporting the model to prevent hanger rash but the spare pockets in the packing foam are ideal for carrying spare Lipolys and you will have so much fun with this, I would carry a few! The supplied charger will operate from a 12v supply and charges through the JST-XH balance lead. All you need now is a flying buddy armed with the Micro Mig 15 for a tennis court dogfight!

Hi, I had the same problem when mine arrived in South-Africa.
1 of my RX ports were not working and the ESC was also giving me cut-outs when I apply thrust. After struggling, trying to find the problem it all came, to the little Receiver, giving all the trouble, just check that the ports are in working condition.
If that is not the problem, they gave you a dis-active ESC, I upgraded with the following:
1)TURNIGY Plush 10amp 9gram Speed Controller "new ESC"
2)Rhino 360mAh 3S 11.1v 20C Lipoly Pack "new powerfull battery"
3)HXT 5g servo (2)
I have not flown her once, because I must get the money to order a new RX and TX :( , but she seems like a beauty in the air. "BTW I'm 15"
The best thing to do is to upgrade her, because the stock power is not much, and you cannot go vertical up."That's what the people say!"
Richard, I hope you get YOUR plane in the air before me. :)
Cheers from SA.

I just received mine and have a problem. Anything over half throttle causes the esc to cut the rpms way down after about five seconds. It will run at full throttle for a few seconds, but then it suddenly drops to what would be about 1/4 throttle on it's own, with no input from the tx. Almost as if it's some kind of safety cutoff or governor?? Resetting the rx will allow it to run at full throttle again for a few seconds, but again this "governor" kicks in and limits the rpms so low that it will not fly. I am using the stock battery. Does it sound like I have a defective esc? Thanks all.

i have a f86 sabre 4ch transmitter that come with the plane and didnt have a bind button???? i know this is dumb but can i bind it with this micro orangerx receiver?....please help. i dont want to buy another transmitter...
The 4 channel F-86 TX isn't DSM2. The orangerx series uses DSM2 (and futaba) modulation. So unfortunately you will need another TX that has DSM2 to use the orange RXs. Invest some money in a good TX that will last the length of this hobby:).
The bind button is not on the Transmitter but on the receiver (small white button), so Turn on your transmitter, plug in the battery, and press the small white button on the RX, Hope it helps :)
This is my first purchase from hobbyking and I have to say from point of order to delivery I have been impressed, overall the service from hk has been excellent , email updates as my order was progressing, and I was surprised when the delivery man arrived within a few days after dispatch to the United Kingdom.
Jet was packed well, that said the box which is used doesn't seem deep enough to accommodate the plane, the tail sits higher than it should in the box which resulted in a slight bend to the tail when the lid of the box was taped shut. With this in mind the box cannot be considered suitable for transportation to flying sight.
I had very little to do but connected push rods, and glue in one of the magnets from the fan cover hatch, be warned these magnets are very strong, strong enough to make it difficult to remove the hatch, I damaged mine doing this.
I've not had a chance to fly it yet, but will update once I have.
I intend to run it on R460-20-2 Rhino 460mAh 2S 7.4v 20C Lipoly Pack which was recommended by another user on this site.
Overall a nice looking edf, great value, and I hope a lot of fun.
I've heard some say they run it stock with 3s while others say you must, change the esc. I've just received this plane myself are you having trouble flying on 2s.
i have this jet.its about 50 to 60 kph.speed.all stock.but for me its enough speed as first edf..just dont make a hard turn for it will stall..make gentle when you turn and apply up elevator..i did not used the drop tanks it is not advisable for it has a small wing area..be careful it is too sensitive with ailerons..happy flying...
Arrived today very quick delivery to the uk, nice looking model almost too nice to fly tail slightly warped. I'm just setting to up at the moment. It's very tight space for the battery and rx plus servo. Also you recommend not to use drop tanks, but without these the push rods seem to be very exposed considering its a belly lander, haven't attached these yet, still undecided on this one. don't expect to get a flight for a while as wind is expected to be high for the next week.
essential,ok just attached the drop tanks but if you find it too heavy or uncontrollable then removed it..remember watch out during making turns..good luck.
i used power supply..1000 to 1800ma..the charger included has a 1000ma charging capacity..the charging cable included has a alligator connector i did not use it..the power supply i buy have already multiple connector..kind of thing you can buy from electronic shop..cheers
you can charge 3s from 350 to 1300mah..but it could be longer time to fully charge as you go to higher mah rate.mine 2s 370mah will take from 15mins.up to 20mins..charging time using the included charger..
after 2 weeks of flight test and with the help of my friend with ten years of exprience in rc hobby, finally it flies gracefully.not so fast but a lot of fun..i will purchase the mig15 soon..thanks hobbyking..
OK, so i have received my F86 Sabre 35mm EDF Micro Jet EPO (RTF - MODE 2)in perfect condion etc. i have charged the battereys also, but when i try connecting started the plane it seems like the transmitter and receiver do not connect to eachother, first i turn on the plane after it stops beeping i turn on the controler and everything is is on 0% and just nothing works? please reply quickly :)
First you need to bind the radio with the plane And ALWAYS: 1- switch ON the RADIO 2- switch ON the plane's receiver 3- switch OFF the PLANE'S RECEIVER 4- switch OFF the radio NEVER FORGET => RADIO ON receiver ON... receiver OFF RADIO OFF Otherwise the receiver will loose the bind Good luck
My instructor does slow flight to land and I see no problem... but making turns with slow speed may be dangerous. Good luck

This is a good Item,
Has fairly level flight and fly's like a high wing air craft, It is stable in the air.
Fairly quick but does loose altitude in high bank turns. slightly under powered, will not loop gets to vertical and stalls.
Elevator servo seems weak and esc power wires can get caught in Elev arm. ESC winds EDF down slowly, and beeps (1 per second) continuously when no throttle applied, useful for locating when lost, annoying when working on.
The Aileron servo is the Achilles heal of this air craft. Its location of the under the wings leads to stripped gears on belly landings on thicker grass. I upgraded to a 8G servo to fix, it still fly's but the servo arm still broke on landing. It will fly with one aileron but stripped gears on next landing.
All in all a good plane but more protection is required for Aileron servo.

I got one of these, fly it every weekend, and totally love it! Even though I expect the model would fly better without them I glued the tanks on and as predicted they make good "skids" for landing on and protect the aileron servo and pushrods - I've yet to damage either. With the tanks fitted I can on a still day perform "touch and goes" with this model if the grass is really short. The best surface being an astroturf cricket pitch.
To make this already good model awesome I did the following:
I use stiffer (slightly thicker & heavier) rods to the ailerons - this improved control enourmously as the rods as supplied were flexing under load I think making the contol responses quite variable.
I put some (silver) tape on the bottom of the tanks (and aileron servo protection "bump") to make them more resilient as skids - this added very little weight. I also put some (shortened?) sewing pins into the tank pylons through the top of the wings so that it wasn't just foam attaching the tanks and taking the landing loads. This also added very little weight but made the tanks attachment much stronger. The pin heads are hardly noticeable - not "berry" sewing pins with the coloured plastic ball on the end of them.
The greatest improvement to be made is to fit a 10A ESC and a Rhino 360mAh 3S battery - it really goes with this setup! The existing ESC might have been ok on 3S but I
