MX2 Blue 3D 1400mm EPO (PNF)
MX2 Blue 3D 1400mm EPO (PNF)

This model is hot!
An EPO 1.4m 3D head-turning machine; this large scale model will surely draw a crowd at any club and demand full respect amongst 3D pilots the world over.

The distinctive and scale scheme is ideal for orientation. The MX2 is large for an EPO model and it looks nearly twice the size once its in the air. Its a blast to fly and is very 3D capable!

The powerful, pre-installed 36-48 motor spinning that large & scale 3 blade prop gives plenty of thrust for the wildest of maneouvers, and the pre-installed servos are certainly up to the job. Generous size control surfaces combined with light weight ensure this is a true performer as well as a head turner. Practical as well as easy on the eye, the wings are detachable for easy transportation, a large canopy ensures easy access to Lipoly tray, wing bolts and so on.

Got my MX2 couple days ago. Wery beautyful plane. Very fast. looks pretty big. completed with 19grams (!!!) servos on rudder and elevator. but the elevator servo is soooo slow, better change it before you make your first flight. Tried to fly with 3S lipoly - not bad but not for aerobatic. Mount your canoopy well or you will definately loose it))) good luck

Hello I replaced mine with NTM Prop drive series 42-48,650kv, 1295w. Happy as can be! :)

Every time I take my MX2 up the canopy keeps coming off! I have put 2 magnets at the front of the canopy and 2 at the back and it still comes off. The only way i can get it to stay on is with duck tape, but this ruins the paint. Any suggestions???
 papymitch 25 points
bonsoir ROSS moi j'ai fait comme indiqué* sur la notice de montage,j'ai fait une ouverture d'air sous le fuselage et cela suffit(un trou d'environ 40 mm de diametre au niveau du servo de profondeur) bon vol a toi

Hello I have a 35C 4S Battery ... somehow squeaky battery starts beeping me right when I take off .. I have to fly half gas to not destroy the battery ... I bought a 65C and I want to connect it .. Is it supposed to be suitable for this engine power? And Can I want connect a battery of 5S? I saw the engine data registered on the site and have the option to connect 3S-5S ... I'd love to get an answer
 Tom 18 points
we are unable to answer your question without knowing the mah rating of your battery. To help you all I can do is give you this: mah x battery C = max continuous current. Hopefully you can use the formula to answer your question

Hi, hi use this Flightmax 2200mAh 4S1P 30C, very good fly for 10 minutes not torque but normal acrobatic fly. Ciao
 bislan 1 points
I dont understand how you can hold a lot of time in the air I have a 2200 35C battery and it holds a maximum 7 minutes with half the gas .... If I give full gas .. It holds 4 minutes
 narvin 16 points
Hi, my child fly with this model, he fly calm and little stunt, the timer after 10 minutes to lands. the lipo have 500 mha. Normal acrobatic fly. Ciao

Can I use 4s 5000 Mah nano batteries in this?
 captnkp 9 points
This sort of defeats the purpose of this plane, agility will suffer. I'd recommend keeping it below 3000mah. Cheers

bonsoir fanfan, as tu refait un vol?et si oui comment cela c'est passé*?

hi , why my plane no flying good ??, it dancing , i don't stop it , it's impossible , it balancing !!! my CG is in front of , look at my video(in my profile) please !!thanks for you
 papymitch 25 points

What adaptor can i use for esc, if i have yellow xt60 batteries? The plane have 5.5mm bullet connector now, becouse it arrived with that.
 Anton 10 points
better soldering a new connector whatever you want than use an adaptor.
Gergo75  11 points - 4/3/2013

And if must, which one recommended? And if we knows which is the recommended, they why not shipping with that?????
Gergo75  11 points - 4/3/2013

Must change the 2 servos before flight? Or i will see how will and i will decide then. Everybody buy 2 servos with a new plane????? I hope it isnt true!!!!!??
 Gergo75 11 points
My 2 servos working fine in my new plane, so i dont need to change! :)
Gergo75  11 points - 4/3/2013

What is about connectors if i want put a 2600MAh battery with 5,5mm bullet connectors? If i remember good ESC have yellow XT60 connector. Which plug i must change? And i didnt found red 5,5plug in the wires/plugs menu.
 Gergo75 11 points
Now arrived. WITH RED 5.5mm Bullet connector on ESC.

The supplied tailwheel assembly has small control horns and there is no backing plate? a horn on each side and 8 short screws to attach horns to the slip over rudder bracket.

the opposite control horn is the backing plate

Hi all, was wondering about correct tail wheel hookup on mx2 3d? I've tried to connect wires from tail wheel to rudder horn...doesn't work as it binds. wires are too long for the actual tail wheel connect points. Also the tailwheel & rudder horn plastic piece i connect with 4 small screws on each side? is this right because it seems very week in the foam area at bottom of rudder? any suggestions?
 Scott 6 points
I bent small V's in each of the wires to make them shorter. It also allows you to adjust the length of each by adjusting how wide the v is. You should have 4 screws that are long enough to go from the servo horn through the tail and into the backer plate on the other side. The way you have it set up it probably wont make it off the ground without the servo horn popping off.

hi guys... need some little details here about servos... I need proper replacement servo for the elevators... the one I have is not fast enough... please advise which would be the best,,, I got this as a gift from a friend who has had a previously misshap with the mx2 and he had the rudder servo changed but he didn't get the proper one... please advise as I really want to get her in the air jp
Manuel  8 points - 3/26/2013

Suggestion! Cut the Red Cable from the ESC RX plug and put a small BEC with 2-3 S 1000mAh Batterie on your RX. The weight do not make a real different. Your Electronics are Save and your Flight Batterie is just for flying. Regards Manu
Manuel  8 points - 3/26/2013

I fly this MX2 with 4S 4000mAh - 14x8 2 blade & GoPro Cam, up to 4 min. So much Power and Fun with this Setup. 4S 4000mAh - 12x6 2 blade over 6 min. but just for chilling rounds. 13-14x7 2 blade should be a good choice for this plane. The ESC didnt heat up and i just changed ELEV. & RUDD. Servos with Digi Standards. Manu

hi sorry i have to put you all down on this one. i ordered this plane...................yes and waited almost a month for it. once i received it, yes i liked every little bit of it. i did all necessary ground checks. charged up my lipo. 4s 2640 ZIPPY. went out and gave it a go. on the ground very very nice. Took off, made a slight turn to the left and what do you know, next thing the plane just loses control, ends up in a tree with a broken engin mount, broken wing and broken landing gear......hhmmmm, what could it be. So i got it out the tree and what do i notice..... no damage to the rudder or the aileron..but why.... they both came of inflight due to bad fitting from HK. so now you tell me, i have been flying for a few years now and i have planes 4 times the size of this thing..... anyway. so i go and reair the wing and replace all the cheap hinges they installed, repaired the stupidly designed engine mount. wow what do you know all fixed. connect my lipo and ready to fly.Now the esc dead and my futaba r617 dead thanks to this ......... plane. so i buy a new 80A esc, put in a new rx, and wow what a nice flight........but. 4min of flying and esc cutts due to over heating. so what a waist of money and time. SO except for this plane looking all nice.....it's not. not even the prop is right size for that motor.......or i was the one to get the DUD. so not woth sending back bec

I replace the prop by 3-blade 11-6 MA and DB spinner (little longer than factory prop) and the fin/tail servo by micro HK939MG, because original servo fail in the second flight (taxing in grass runaway). I'm using 4cell 30-40C 2200 battery and provide hovering power for 6-7 minutes. Only cons: elevator needs lot of expo and dual rate, canopy magnet is weak, CG is "tricky" and wings can be damaged during removal. These are "cons" that I can handle with simples mod's. This is a real WINNER and show stopper for less than $120!!!

When unboxing this plane i was suprised how quick it went together. The only glue that was needed was to glue the exaust in and canopy glass after installation of your pilot.A couple of mods have to be made to insure a perfect flight characteristics,1/ motor mount is slightly off which make the motor pull to one side when throttling up a piece of 1mm carbon fiber under the shorter leg should bring it back level. 2/ Fire wall may be slightly loose a bit of glue should sort this out.3/ check all the hinges as you might find that some of them are loose just reglue and youre ready to fly.Replacement prop would be 12"x6" three blade.

This is not a review per se, but a request for suggestions on the wing/cf tube/fuselage/wing mounting. Everything appeared easy and straight forward. However, the carbon fiber tube would not go all the way through the wings. And I cannot pull the wings out of the cf tube, thereafter.

My option, the best that I could see, is to pull one wing out enough so I can hacksaw the cf tube. Then I can use a ferrule tube joint. The wings will win then be easily removable. The challenge is to pull one wing out. I hope the tube is not glued into the wing. Otherwise, a major wing surgery.

Looking for better ideas,

Delfin

A really capable model but be sure to keep the batteries up to it. We suggest a 2650mAh, but you can get away with a 2200mAh high C-rate pack for better 3D.
This model is pretty big, but looks like an 80inch when flying.
An awesome model and a real keeper.
(Actually the picture to the left is BEN holding the same model with the V1 colour scheme!) Big isn't it!?
