Hi does anyone know if this will serve me well enough in my savage flux, I have never replaced a servo before, only used the original hpi sf-5, thought that the extra torque could improve turning on rough surface...any feedback at all would be great :)

Best thing you can do to tighten up the handling. Always a worthy upgrade. Not a tough job to replace a servo, just be patient and keep everything organised.

a bit late i know but the stock servo on the savage flux in approx 15kg too so there's no point

HPI SF5 Servo is rated at 8.9kg * 6 Volts, no idea where you got 15kg from, maybe check the specs!

Hi all, I know that the stock servo for the Savage Flux is the SF-5 and that it is rated at 8.9, my initial question was if the extra torque of this servo (15.8kg) would be useful on rough terrain, I did buy one of these, I also bought an HPI SF-50 at the same time, the extra steering torque on both is brilliant, a huge improvement on the SF-5 and from using both the Turnigy 9150MG and the HPI SF-50, although the Turnigy is a little juttery when not under load, I find that it outperforms the SF-50 every time when I am hitting it hard in the rough. Good on ya Turnigy

Good to know, am upgrading a Savage Flux now myself so looks like a winner!

1 thumbs up!
I bash my Savage Flux and killed my original HPI SF-5 servo (rated at 8.9kg) so I bought one of these servos in the hope that the extra torque of this servo (15.8kg) would be useful on rough terrain I also bought an HPI SF-50 at the same time, the extra steering torque on both is brilliant, a huge improvement on the SF-5 and from using both the Turnigy 9150MG and the HPI SF-50, although the Turnigy is a little juttery when not under load, I find that it outperforms the SF-50 every time when I am hitting it hard in the rough. Good on ya Turnigy 30 plus battery packs later and still going strong :)

I now have two of these fitted to my 1/10 Axial AX10 rock crawler (4WS). I certainly put them through their paces and they are holding up great. Another great product from Hobbyking.

all in all it does what ud expect it to do. Im using it on my summit and on the rocks it holds its driving angle, on the flat surface its responsive.
