Ca4lo  141 points - 6/3/2013

would a 7x5 be too much with this motor and 20 amp esc?
 Baoxia 2 points
5x5 6x5 high speed props , 20amp is ok as long is you don't go full power the whloe flight
 Ca4lo 141 points
ok i used a master airscrew 6x3 with this on my teksumo. works perfectly
 Baoxia 2 points
7x3 max, you could try it if you want, see if the motor and or esc get hot.
Jason  2 points - 5/29/2013

Recently the screws the hold the motor to the motor mount have fallen out and I need to know what size screw to order to replace the ones that fell out. I do know that they are a hex screw.
 Michael 41 points
Hi Jason, they are M3x3 grub screws. Thanks for letting me know they fell out. I will loctite my ones in now! Happy flying!
Tunahan  3 points - 5/24/2013

Aaron  4 points - 5/8/2013

can i run this motor with a 3cell 1300-1500mAh 20c battery a esky 25 amp esc and a 6x5 prop?
 wayneuk 294 points
yes perfect combo for it
 Andrej1175 16 points
Yes, you can use this motor with 3s and 6x5 prop. I have used this motor with 7x6 prop on 3s battery and no problem with overheating or someone else...
 javier_david 3 points
yes perfectly, i used it whith 6x5 in may hawk sky with 2200 mah 20c battery and i can fly 20 minutes. it´*s a great motor
wayneuk  294 points - 4/28/2013

yes as long as its 3mm the alloy ones one flea bay work well as do the hobbyking ones much better than the o ring
ollie  1 points - 4/28/2013

Would a e flite 3mm prop adapter work on this prop shaft?
 Alessio 50 points
i use 3mm prop adapter and fit perfect
Nigel  3 points - 4/12/2013

Will a pair of these be suitable for use in a GWS P38 lightning?
 wayneuk 294 points
if you can fit them on then yes ..also suitable for the mini zephyr flying wing
glenn_mech  338 points - 4/11/2013

how many poles thus this motor have?i want to set my esc timing.
Robert  1 points - 4/10/2013

Mine makes a high pitched noise when throttle is on. Any reason for this?
 Bixler13 33 points
The prop is flexing. Get a stronger prop
 Alessio 50 points
I think it's normal because i use this motor with different prop(now i use a 5x5 apc) and the noise is the same
 Bixler13 33 points
Either the prop isn't balanced or that's just the normal operation. Does it vibrate too?
 Alessio 50 points
no vibration just noise, all the prop are well belanced
TimothyBoland  13 points - 4/8/2013

Would it work with a 4s 1800mah
 Morten 2 points
Yes! I'm running it with 4S 2200mAh and a 6x4 prop. Runs great and i have no problem with overheating.
jack  1 points - 4/6/2013

ALCARAFA  305 points - 3/22/2013

Holly cow ... this motor is real power, got this readings with nanotech 3S 25/50 and APCe 6 / 4. 236.9 Watts 20.01 amps is a great motor for parkjets.
 wayneuk 294 points
jsut keep a eye on the magnets as they can come loose a bit of glue will fix it though so not a problem
 ALCARAFA 305 points
Thanks wayneuk I've read about the problem with this motor.
 wayneuk 294 points
not so much a problem matey ive only had one come loose in over a year & a half ive a few axns & my friends fly axns they have had no issues however at one point i was using mine everyday
Alessio  50 points - 3/8/2013

I have that plane with this motor and 30a esc, 7x3.5 prop and 1300mah battery. It is way to powerful for that flimzy flyes like **** plane. Cavitates like crazy starting at 3/4 throttle. Get a Bonzai or Tek Sumo. Infinitly better flying wings.
 greasmnky 205 points
7x5 prop is too big for this motor, guy above said his is pulling 20 amps [max limit] with a 6x4 prop.
 Alessio 50 points
Thanks greasmnky now i use 5x5 prop with 30 amp esc...but my cambat wings is too fast whit this motor
Jose M  5 points - 2/28/2013

for that type of aircraft is (weight)?
 William 5 points
Hi, is www.link excelent motor.
Kamal  5 points - 2/26/2013

I have ordered the plane body and the motor separately Can I use it this way or I need to buy a prop adapter?
 wayneuk 294 points
yes you can use it as is just remove the motor mount from the plane as it will come with a mount also the alloy prop holders are better imho & dont require the bands to hold the prop on
 boim77 32 points
for more safer add the prop adapter 3mm like this product id: GON-D3T6.
everydayhonk  4 points - 2/12/2013

Can I use this on a Teksumo. Will it be fast enough?
 m3tafora 18 points

omar  10 points - 1/19/2013

 Marcel 6 points

Charles  1 points - 12/11/2012

I have 2 Flaoter Jets, Clouds Fly. One of them the motor is defect. Which motor can I order, to replace?. Plaese sent me a mail with the type of the orginal motor, I can order for my plane.
Greetings,
Charles van der Geest
 greengo746 45 points
This motor is a good replacement motor for Clouds Fly. I have put this motor in my park jets, hawk sky and various other diy projects. The long wires are a plus and motor work fine with 6*4 prop. 18A ESC is good enuf.
emulldonang  19 points - 12/9/2012

can this motor installed for cessna 182?
 Ramron 932 points
I don't see why not.
 n8ander 16 points
Yes, But which cessna 182
 emulldonang 19 points
CESSNA 182 DELUXE,
 n8ander 16 points
If i am not mistaken that has a 7inch prop, it should be fine BUT look into this one: FC 28-12 Brushless Outrunner 1534kv, and use this prop:APC style propeller 7x6-E. it will give you MUCH more speed than the stock motor. it pulls 16 to 18 amps, so a minimum 25 amp esc is perfect.
 n8ander 16 points
Also, it has a 3mm shaft, so make sure your prop will fit a 3mm shaft. or buy the one I suggested. If you use a prop saver, put the prop saver on AFTER the propeller, that way your prop doesnt fly off if the prop saver breaks. A collet adapter would be better.

wonder if this ever will get to europe? i know you can get it in the UK warehouse, but for some dsicriminationg reason other countries cant order from there. makes no sense. everyone help to put pressure on HK that we want this in the NL warehouse.
auto5  96 points - 12/1/2012

What is the timing for this low/mid/high? I need to program my plush 30A ESC.
 Javier 9 points
High timming definitily.. it works on medium too with no problems, but i found it works a bit better with high. For the number of poles is also suposed to be high
jakobø  73 points - 11/30/2012

Any good alternatives for this? Perhaps in the nl warehouse ?
 n8ander 16 points
This www.link this www.link my 30inch wing go 73 MPH
 n8ander 16 points
That didn't load correctly. Search: FC 28-12 Brushless Outrunner 1534kv,AND APC style propeller 7x6-E That motor and prop combo will give about 75MPH
 n8ander 16 points
OH, but if you are using this on the AXN floaterjet, a 7" prop will be too big. sorry.
jakobø  73 points - 11/29/2012

is it fitted with a propsaver? it looks like it?
 wayneuk 294 points
yes its fitted & not removeable a alloy prop holer also fits on the end with no problems
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
 jakobø 73 points
So no need to order another propholder?
 wayneuk 294 points
not really ..but i perfer the alloy ones so iam not relying on a o ring to hold my prop on. only a few $
 Ramron 932 points
yes, get a 3mm colet prop adapter, that will work better in the long run given the motor is located on the top of the aircraft and not the nose.

These motors are great. I had a clouds fly (jet floater) and eventually it can only get glued back to gether so many times and not good to fly any more. But the motor has been transplanted to another plane. These are light, fast, powerful and just run so cool on a 6x4 3s. heaps of power and they just scream. I getting a couple just to have on hand for any 1400mm foamy or similar.
I currently have it on the multiplex easy star but the Bixler would be as good (better than the stock for sure) which I also have. Tony

These motors are great for Clouds Fly replacements. Runs cool at full throttle during the ENTIRE flight. I can place my hand on the motor immediately upon landing and it is only warm to the touch. I have a few of these and have never had one burn out...use with 5x5 or 6x4 props for great performance. These are much more efficient than the 2409 motors with slightly less power. On my Clouds Fly planes these motors are loud when full throttle is applied.
