hi people iam building a 450 with a 500 hu fiberglass canopy.i dont fly 3D just scale will this motor be able to lift the extra 280 grams? cheers

Whilst using a 30amp esc with this motor it overheated and burned. What is an esc that can be used? (must be lightweight)

Turnigy plush esc's are very reliable and lightweight due to built'in bec's. It also depends on your setup as you may have used a prop not designed for the motor.

Best not to, its an outrunner which mean the whole body of the motor spins along with the shaft. only the mounting block remains stationary. best to find an "inrunner" for your car

L&R no not for CAR it is a OUTRUNNER you need a inrunner for a car. I am yet to see Outrunner (the out side body spines) on any thing else other than a plane and fan boats. Maybe a fan CAR???????? OOOOOOOO A EDF (Electric Duct Fan) Car would be cool too!!1

I recently purchased the HK450 and the shaft on the motor I intended to use is too short and wont reach the main drive gear. So I was thinking of getting this motor but I’m not sure what size pinion I should get to match it, and if it would fit this shaft size. Has anyone done this before or can help? Cheers

get 11T to 13t all are good. and shaft is 3.17. most pinions for 450 heli are 3.17 .

Works well with 13t pinon and turnigy plush 40A for my HK450 Pro. 40C battery will help maintain head speed during heavy collective pumps.
