So, you want a fast parkflyer!? Forget boring scale details and shelf queen good looks this F4F Wildcat is built for speed and all out fun! Dog fight with friends on 3S or use a 4S pack for heart pounding high speed passes, either way the Fun fighters have you covered. The combination of the light weight EPO airframe, a high power brushless motor and a simple aileron and elevator setup place these models amongst the most exhilarating park flyers to hit the market this year. Dont be left out of the fun!
This model comes plug and fly and only requires a few minutes of assembly time and flies like its on rails thanks to the one piece molding technique used in the construction. All you will require to have the F4F Wildcat in the air is a 3~4S 850mAh 20C Lipoly battery and your own transmitter and receiver (Tx/Rx)
I fly the Rare Bear on the same set-up and find that 4 mins is about right. Believe me that is a long time when you are tracking it in the sky. It's quick! Just upgraded to a 4s 1000 nano so that should be interesting. Lol.
i fly it like powerflying, fullthrottle most time about 5 minutes.
just for cruising around with some speedy times you can fly round about 10-12 minutes.
both cases with a 850mah 3s nanotech :)
I've received F4F. The package is good and intact, but it looks to me that the wingtips are sort of bent/arched downwards. I would say it is a defect/warping but they look suspiciously symmetrical on both wings. Do you have the bend on your planes? At the moment I put a heavy book on the wing to straighten it out.
I recently received my free f4f wildcat i bought
the Turnigy nano-tech 850mAh battery that was recommended but i can't figure out how to plug it in do i need to buy special connectors or something.
You can use either the Mini-JST connectors or you can change both battery and esc connectors to the xt60 or deans, whatever you prefer.
Either way keep in mind that if you are going to go 4s you can't use the jst.
sorry but what influence does the capacity of the battery have on the esc ? The only two factors for the ESC are the number of cells and the amperage...to my knowledgd the Ohm's law is still valid....
sory coz to make u all confuse..the statement earlier just to play save for ur sake. that's correct, P=IV but dont forget V=IR and R is not always the same values to all 3sel lipo plus other influeces such size of blade, and awg class type etc.. The ESC stock has a so minima for that kind of high kv motor if u use 4sel. if u all dont believe.. u all may try to observe with watt meter. try using diferent Mah with diference circuit, c rate, wire type, same size blade but differ brand..but use same voltage. the result u will know..try your best.. just wanna share..
It's simple, DON't FLY WITH 4S.I used the nano tech 850mAh 4s, the engine stopped after a few minutes flight. There is nothing burnt out, and after cooling down, motor started back ... but there is definitely something wrong, if I plug in the battery hear no biebs!!!
Hey Corn, CG for this (and pretty much every other traditional winged A/C) is between 1/4 to 1/2 of the chord length on the wing. If you set it around 1/3 as a starting point, you can adjust it from there, depending on how you want to fly. Just pick it up by the wingtips at the 1/3 chord, and adjust the weight so the plane sits level
it easy, u can custom made by your self. i have one and i 'm just find out that cessna type of landing gear can be fix up, but u need some modification on the body of your F4F. just google to youtube.com (landing gear modification home made)
The stinger 64 landing gear is way too big. Don't bother with landing gear, if you must use a skid. I land on rocky dirt and it is nothing some tape can't protect against. Furthermore this has no rudder, you won't be able to steer!
Yes I know of the 1/3rd rule, but it is generic and is still likely to need adjusting for good flight. Anyone know the recommended CG, or a CG that they have had good success with?
I ran 6x4's on 3S with good results. These planes don't like to slow down, but this prop keeps it pretty manageable. I broke 3 or 4 of them while getting used to it, so order extras!
Please, Hobbyking, kindly make some spare parts available (Propeller (your 5.5x4.5 does not fit, too small hole) , Motormount, Motor ...). Thank you very much!
Dillzio you would think so but with the grey underbelly she is quite good and easy to see in the sky. But I find if you fly through the sun no color helps that. I hope this helps
The problem is if you want it to look scale the real plane had the retracts extend out of the fuselage. There are no retracts that I have seen yet that can do that. but when hobby king makes some I will be sure to pick some up for my Canadair because it would use the exact same type!
The stock esc ....maybe can handle a 850 20c 4s lipo ...maybe...more than this it will fry....I suggest a 30 amp esc like the Turnigy plush and getting a Nanotech 4s 850 40c....
Hate to sound like a rivet counter but IMHO the decals look all wrong. If so they are bothersome to alter. please let us apply them ourselves. This might not bother some folk but to an enthusiast it is an abomination.
haha, rivet-counter! This model is small and made from EPO which is more elastic than EPS and therefore unable to fill small cavities such as rivets and fine panel lines. It's made from EPO because it's a funfighter.
Your correct to a degree Will. To be honest I was so delighted to find an F4F being offered that I wrote my observations before reading the description. I like to think of all of my war bird models as "fun Fighters" otherwise why bother flying them. Am I to understand fun should mean make a reasonably accurate looking plane and then willfully get the details all wrong? Sorry i don't see the point in that. Still, if others are happy with it I expect this must be the way forward. Thanks
I was only having a Jest mate, relax. I see your point some people prefer alot of realism in their models and that is the fun part for them.
I think in this instance they are referring to the point that it is just a fun "flying" little aircraft dont take it to serious because thats not what it is about.
Just strap in a battery and have some silly fun.

Great little plane. Make sure elevator is even and throws the same. I run an orange 6ch rx, plane finder alarm, 3s1000mah, 3s1300mah (squeezed in just) and 4s1000mah. Don't bother with 3s unless you are a newbie (not a beginners plane though), runtime on 4s1000mah is the same as 3s1300 at about 4min flat out. Best small plane I have, much more fun than parkjet and radjet 800.
