The distinctive and scale scheme is ideal for orientation. The MX2 is large for an EPO model and it looks nearly twice the size once its in the air. Its a blast to fly and is very 3D capable!
The powerful, pre-installed 36-48 motor spinning that large & scale 3 blade prop gives plenty of thrust for the wildest of maneouvers, and the pre-installed servos are certainly up to the job. Generous size control surfaces combined with light weight ensure this is a true performer as well as a head turner. Practical as well as easy on the eye, the wings are detachable for easy transportation, a large canopy ensures easy access to Lipoly tray, wing bolts and so on.
Hey Kanga...I agree with you on this plane....Mine would have as much air time as yours and still my favourite.... paint is getting a little faded , but this is a good example of how a good model can last and last ...Glad to see someone posting positive comments.
I have now purchased both the blue mx2 and now the green mx2. The green plane is definately the better finished plane . The green plane has an upgraded prop driver and has no runout at all . The green mx2 is much easier to see in the sky. The blue one had visibility problems , the blue mx2 turns into a black shadow all that is visible is the white stars on the top of the wing. The green mx2 stands out at a distance easily and is easier to keep your orientation.

Having completed the build ,, or should I say rebuild I can only sumise that the guy that built my green mx2 must of had financial shares in the glue used in the plane .. He was extremlely sparing with it. "ABSOLUTELY EVERY JOIN IN THIS PLANE WAS NOT STUCK" The entire plane had to be pulled apart back to kit form. the motor mounts had two small spots of glue the size of a match stick head holding it in. The wing tube assembly had about the same. the entire length of the fuselage was mostly unglued the bad joins hidden by well positioned decals. The green mx2 was obviously a v1 that was manufactured badly as every one I have seen with a green mx2 has had similar problems. The blue mx2 seems to be the improved v2 that seems to be assembled much better. It would have been better if Hobby king had supplied this plane in complete kit form .. Do your self a favour and get the blue mx2 version , as it has none of theese quality control issues.

Ive had around 5 flights with my green mx2. I am happy with the quality of the model. I did replace the elevater and rudder servos straight away. The cog was spot on with the 3000mah battery pushed up into the nose. Take of and landings are good. Plenty of power. Snaps, cubens , big sky loops etc ,knife edges, the model seems to handle this stuff with ease. Still want to get more comfortable with it and not crash for at least a few more flights . I noticed the wings will stall at very low speed, but just land it at a decent speed like most planes should.
Quite happy with the plane but you need to check everything and make sure you program the ESC before flying it. Also my right wing was banana shaped out of the box.. I have straightened it by clamping it straight and adding some heat. Not an ideal plane for newbies fine if you are a modeler. Also mine ended up at 2150 grams with the 3000mah 4cell zippys. The servos look very cheap and nasty. I will have to wait and see how they go.. Under carriage is very soft steel. Probably need to replace with Aluminium or cf. Stil I think it's good value for the money. Most places are selling this plane for double the $

I was a bit concerned about the high current draw of stock motor ( 62 amps). I replaced the stock motor with Turnigy Easymatch 46 550 kv. On 15 x 8 apc 2 bladed prop the new motor draws 40 amps at WOT. Around 2900g thrust with 2100g weight. My elevator servo would not centre after 3 flights so I replaced them all with Hitecs. This aircraft is flown on Turnigy 2200 4s 30c battery inserted at the most forward point of the battery tray. C of G spot on 100mm from leading edge. Aircraft has unlimited vertical performance. Even with the extra cost of the upgraded items, this aircraft still represents good value.
