Hope that they are available again soon... Need them too warm up my fingers in the winter... in the summer they will be useless!
 Schorch 150 points
They`re not useless in the summer. Think about pushing lipo-batteries to the limit of their c-rating, this goes much better if they`re pre-heated to 35 - 40 degree Celsius.
 csdragon 8 points
I already have a good heater for that.
Tekker  30 points - 10/17/2012

Is it only have 2 heating pads ? A car does have 4 tires, last time I checked *)

Does it also work with a 13,8V psu?
 startazz 954 points
Not if the max is 12v mate *-(
T-rexmen 8)  26 points - 11/2/2011

1 thumbs up!
I received mine yesterday from the German warehouse. Nice item and nice packing. It is originally designed for pre-heating of RC car tires and that's what the instruction (yes, there is an instruction) says. The main unit (switchbox) is much smaller than it looks. It is appr. 6,5cm x 5cm x 2cm (height without the switch knob) The pads are REALLY BIG like mentioned in HK describtion. You should know that the side with aluminium coating is the heating side. Don't forget to place the temperature sensor in one of the pads - otherwise the switch unit heats up until you burn whatever you want to heat up!!!
What cannot be ssen on the HK photo is, that the connection between switch box and pad is a TAMYA style plug which is rock solid.
The lenght of the input cord with aligator clips (I would change them to match a LiPo cell plug) is appr. 35cm incl. clips. The length of the power cord to the pads is appr. 50cm incl. the Tamya plug. Length of sensor cord is also appr. 50cm. The power cords are parallel - for special purpose the could be modified to 2 individual cords which allows more flexibility when placing the heat pads in your pocket or elsewhere. This would require to change the Tamya system against something else and make individual cords. I guess that 4mm connectors would do - however, the power cords to the pads are what HK calls 10W wire. Be prepared that A LOT of battery p

SUPERB, I STITCHED MY HEATER PADS INTO MY TURNIGY TRANSMITTER GLOVE TO KEEP THEM SECURE AND TO STOP THEM MOVING ABOUT. I CUT THE CROC CLIPS OFF AND SOLDERED ON A DEANS CONNECTOR SO I CAN POWER THE HEATERS USING A SPARE 11.1V 2200MAH LIPO. THE HEATERS WORK SUPERB AND KEEP MY HANDS LOVERLY AND WARM ON OUR COLD ENGLISH WINTER DAYS. LOL
