So, you want a fast parkflyer!? All of the Funfighter range are truly ballistic, amazing fun, tough and brilliant value for money....but there is something special about the Rarebear. A firm favourite in the Hobbyking office, you will notice the lack of panel lining for a start, it's just built for speed! The Rarebear is of course a world famous Reno Racer and is a highly modified Bearcat, it is one of the fastest piston engined aircraft in the world. This Rarebear features a detailed canopy, pilot figure and the all important upgraded 4s Compatible ESC which means true 100 mph+ performance is possible with NO mod's & no extra outlay, just drop in a Turnigy 4s 850mAh~1000mAh pack and prepare to be impressed!
The combination of the light weight EPO airframe, a high power brushless motor and a simple aileron and elevator setup place these models amongst the most exhilarating park flyers to hit the market this year. Dont be left out of the fun!
This model comes plug and fly and only requires a few minutes of assembly time and flies like its on rails thanks to the one piece molding technique used in the construction. All you will require to have the Rarebear in the air is a 3~4S 850mAh 20C Lipoly battery and your own transmitter and receiver (Tx/Rx), see the attached video for some 3s & 4s flight footage and some info regarding the ESC Mod that we at Hobbyking insisted on.
This is an absolutely awesome plane! I run mine on Nanotech 1300mah 3S and 1000mah 4S batteries. On 3S it goes FAST. On 4S it is unbelievable! Would be well over 170km/hr. I did change my ESC to a Turnigy Plush 30 amp to be on the safe side. Not a beginners plane but no bad tendencies at all. Flies straight and true. Can also fly well slow too. Has the biggest grin per $ ratio of any of my planes. If you are an intermediate pilot or better then get one!

I use the recommended batteries, but beware 4s is fast , this plane gets small very fast, flies on rails . i still use the std esc no problems yet .
we have 4 at our small club , we all love it , if you lose it you will get another, there does not seem to be any other plane that moves this fast .
but not for beginners, you cant blink an eye on 4s as its just moving to fast, and you will lose it.
you will have to add a red tape to the top wing or bottom wing for visibility.I taped the top wing as you see more top wing on the banked high speed large turns.

Only one piece of advice on this little "Badboy" Buy one. It's the most fun you can have with your pants still on! I was worried prior to maidening the Bear. I'm 62 and my reflexes are a bit slower than the young guys but I needn't have worried. It launched like it was on rails and needed only minimal trim adjustment. It is very faaaast even on the stock 3s setup & although capable of handling 4s I wont be going down that path. I dialled in lots of expo which made it a lot more controllable. Roll rate and vertical climb ability are insane. Easy to land but needs a big field as it comes in fast. The build quality is excellent and it flew straight out of the box without having to fix anything beforehand. I cut away the heatshrink on both sides of the ESC to help with heat dissipation and it came down from both flights barely warm.

What a weapon! I fly mine with a 4s and am most impressed. It needs to go fast on turns or it can tip stall, ask me how I know. It went in nose first at at least fifty kmh and just some foam safe CA at ten minutes later it's back in the air like nothing's happened. I did swap the prop for a APC 6/4 much better balance. All in all a great fun but very, very fast little plane. Well done HK.

The best bang for your buck.Does fly like it's on rails but is very responsive at speed around 160k fastest loops i have ever see, have no problems landing comes in fast and stable.Had to remove some foam to fit a 4s pack that's no problem.Used a 4s 1000mAh 20c battery. Not for the beginner but would certainly recommend one of these if you want an adrenalin rush.
