Is it possible to remove the FIN? Is there a version without FIN?

im pretty sure the FIN is what keeps this motor running cool...can u remove it on this model no..but there are plenty out there without them.

according to the specs of the 3 inch EDF from hobbyking and the dia of the motor i do not think so

What Battery and ESC do you recomend with this motor? I want to use it to power a 397g wing as a pusher with an 8x4 prop.

Wrong motor, look at a higher turn motor, this will draw monster amps with a 8x4

any motor will at the start handle what you put into it...how long you want it too last determines what you put into it...wether it can handle 4s would also be determine on the esc being used and application i think

im using a 45amp esc as a min...i like to leave a good margin for error

This motor is rated for 3,000 KV and I am still unsure if that is accurate. Used on the Fun Jet with a 3S set up and an APC 4.7 x 4.2 prop she was pulling 48A! Yes the Fun Jet was going fast for sure. Power she has but I did not expect that many amps from this motor if its only 3,000 KV and when used with a 4.7 x 4.2 prop.

I got this motor and first thoughts is extremely heavy. Got it for my FJ. Had to add weight to nose with 3s 2200. Ran fine for a few test, no flights, then i opted for a lighter option. Put it another setup and it went berserk, End result .....trash can.

this is very good motor for zagi or fun jet,
max prop size 5x5. can bot any 30 to 40 size plane.
