ZIPPY Flightmax 2500mAh Transmitter Pack (Futaba/JR)

ZIPPY Flightmax 2500mAh Transmitter Pack (Futaba/JR)
ZIPPY Flightmax 2500mAh Transmitter Pack (Futaba/JR)

Zippy Flightmax batteries deliver full capacity & discharge as well as being the best value batteries in the hobby market today!

The Zippy Flightmax 2500mAh Transmitter pack fits snuggly into any Futaba or Jr radio which takes a 4x4 AA cell battery configuration (see image).

With a capacity of 2500mAh this lipoly replacement for your old NiCD or NiMH will last four to five times longer. Probably the best advantage with a lipoly transmitter battery is that it will give a true voltage reading from start to finish which means you can say goodbye to the days where you thought your Transmitter was fully charged at home, only to find the voltage drop off rapidly when at the field.

Will this battery work in a JR8103 without any problems
phalogore  15 points - 6/6/2013

Will this work on the 9XR? The recommended battery has been out of stock ages and I have one of these around.
 Kimmerek 85 points
It fits perfectly in 9X and 9XR as well. I have this one and it works great!
 phalogore 15 points
So i just connect it with the battery balanced plug, right?
 Ninjatech 3740 points
You can use the balance plug to power the 9XR tx, keep in mind that any 3S LiPo pack with lower than 10C discharge rate and max dimensions 112 x 44 x 27mm. For instance, the ZIP25003S3C - ZIPPY Flightmax 2500mAh Transmitter Pack (Futaba/JR), the T2650.3S.1C - Turnigy 2650mAh 3S 1C LLF Tx Pack (Futaba/JR), the 9210000036 - Turnigy nano-tech 2500mAh 3S1P 5~10C Transmitter Lipo Pack, and the R2620-TX-3 - Rhino 2620mAh 3S 11.1v Low-Discharge Transmitter Lipoly Pack, will do the job nicely.

At which current do you charge this pack? I do it at 0.6A as I am not sure to be able to charge it at 1 C, so 2.5A.
 Kimmerek 85 points
I usually use 1.5A - 2.0A. If you are using current below 1C, then your lipos life expectancy will be longer.

Hello. Can I use these pack on a Hitec Eclipse 7 72Mhz? thanks.
acs_guitars  43 points - 6/1/2013

This pack is for the transmitter only and would not have high enough C rating for the quad drone. If you want longer flight times, you are lookng in the right direction, a higher mAh flght pack is what you need. You'll need to measure the battery compartment to see what will fit. Keep in mind that more mAh capacity increases weight, so your quad may not be able to handle much more than the stock pack without getting into other upgrades. Your charger will charge a higher capacity pack, hut it will take a bit longer.

Hey, I recently bought a Parrot A.R Drone 2.0 and like all users, i want longer flight time than what i get with the standard battery that comes with it (3-cell, high grade Lithium-Polymer battery, 1,000 mAh at 11.1 volts 10C.). I've looked around for information on this battery with the AR Drone but i'm getting mixed answers. "Yes it works", "no it doesn't!" Maybe someone could help me if i post here. I was redirected from here https://docs.google****/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmwVqcH
o33JGdEhxOVIzT0Q0OUhhN3pIXzdqOXV4SFE#gid=0
so i am aware the battery is longer than the battery tray. What i want to know if it is suitable to fly my drone using this battery and if i need a specific charger for it or i can use the charger i got with it (LiPo charger (13.5V/0.9A Output))

can i use this battery to turnigy 9x v2, ? do i need to modify the original connector?
 hermit81 1700 points
i use this battery in turnigy 9x v2. and dont change connector. if you will be connect with stock connector - pay attention! dont reverse polarity
 binary 40 points
While it is not required to change the connector (black one fits fine), I did it just to be sure that it does not disconnect accidentally. As for reversing polarity - if I remember correctly, middle pin was , both outer pins were -, therefore you can't reverse polarity, when using the black connector.
 hermit81 1700 points
with stock connector from battery possible reverse the polarity
 binary 40 points
The battery has 3 connectors - one for balancing and two for chargin/discharging. If you use small white connector, then yes, it is possible to reverse it, because it has only two "holes". Black connector cannot be reversed - plug it in either way, positive wire will always be in the middle.
 hermit81 1700 points
about 10-15 posts below, I post photos with this battery
 Wojciech 1 points
Im also using black connector, then you do not have problem with polarity, when you pluging allways red is in the middle as it schould be. Only one think that you need place battery on side.

Guy  7 points - 5/23/2013

I use it on my T7C, work perfectly, no matter about the voltage but you have to use your battery charger to rechage it, don't use your power supply connecting to the transmitter to recharge it.
Michiel  2 points - 5/20/2013

My transmitter Futaba T7C uses a NT8S600B NiCad battery pack supplying the transmitter with 9.6 volt. You claim this battery will fit into a Futaba transmitter and is supplied with the right connector. How about the voltage 11.1v versus 9.6v?
 thejavester 61 points
It works fine. At full charge my t7c reads 12.5v and no problems.

Just wondering would this fit into a Hitec optic 6 tx?
laxmanrawat  1 points - 5/14/2013

I want used this batter for 9x turnigy transmitter this batter fit for 9x
 Kimmerek 85 points
Yes it fit. However there is an issue with battery plug. This battery has three wires. You can use the out of the box black 3-pin plug but it is uncomfortable. I replaced 2-pin plug from battery with 3-pin plug from 9x battery box.
 laxmanrawat 1 points
where you got 3-pin plug
 Kimmerek 85 points
I cut it off from original battery-box (8AA battery) which is added to Turnigy 9x transmitter.
 kenny 2 points
Hi jakub I just wanted to say you can fit the battery in the turnigy 9x without cutting the original battery box wire. all you need to do is place the battery in with the zippy logo face down on the bottom of the 9x and your sorted :)
 kenny 2 points
I tryed uploding a pic but it was over 500kb so here is a cropped one of how I have my battery in. target=_blank>face down insta

do the 9x turnigy will burn if i will use this battery at full charge 12.6v?
 hermit81 1700 points
I have a full battery charge - transmitter work normally
 georgiev.s 60 points
It will probably not burn at once, but over time it could damage your TX
Wehutty  11 points - 5/13/2013

I accidentally forgot my Turnigy 9X on and apparently over-discharged this battery and now cannot even get my LiPro Balance Charger to charge, balance, discharge, store or fast charge it. Is there any way here to salvage this battery or is it totally trashed?
 hermit81 1700 points
try to charge in nimh mode, few minutes. then change mode on lipo
 Wehutty 11 points
Thanks for the advice, but I suppose as a result of this over-discharge, this battery is now just a bit "puffy". Is this a sign that its permanently damaged or will this go away after a few charges, ot just with time?
 hermit81 1700 points
probably defective battery or hit her ... I have to charge it at least five times and everything is fine
scottc  111 points - 5/11/2013

this my be dumb but how do you charge this pack, I know I have to use my lipo charger but do I just use the futaba plug and set to 3 cell charge?
 hermit81 1700 points
imax b6 charger have wires for charge this battery
Leorzanella  1 points - 5/7/2013

Thanx, hermit81!!! Sorry not to be so clear, but I meant if the plug fits and not the battery size, because I use one of these batteries on 9X with the 2 wires plug. The four wires plug showed on your picture, I use only to balance charge the batt. So, do this battery connects to 9XR with the 4 wires plug?? Thanks again!!!
 Kimmerek 85 points
Classic Turnigy 9x has small 2-pin plug. I replaced the out of the box plug from battery box with one of the battery plug. Turnigy 9XR has 4-pin plug. This plug is compatible with out of the box battery ballance plug.

The battery needs to have the leads reversed to fit the Turnigy 9X. It swap the leads just place a thin metal spike under the thin plastic strip that holds the wire in place. Gently prise the plastic up and pull the lead out. Do the same for the other lead then reinstall them with the black lead on the left side of the plug so you have the correct polarity
 Kimmerek 85 points
I did mistake in my description. Classic Turnigy 9x has small 3-pin plug. I replaced this 2-pin battery plug with 3-pin (one pin is unused).
Alessandro  1 points - 5/6/2013

Yes. I´*ve got one there and it fits perfectly.
jdcorredera  1 points - 4/28/2013

Can be used with 9X?, But without making any modification to the Lipo? My question is that if you do not need any adjustment, just load it into my charger ImaxB6AC and insert it into the station. Is that so?
 hermit81 1700 points
Look at the photo a couple of posts below.
 Henry. 52 points
It fits perfectly inside the battery compartment in a 9X. If you want to charge it with the chargeport at the TX as well you have to solder the battery wires (or adapter) directly to this and then it should work just fine.
Edmund  2 points - 4/22/2013

How to do it?
 hermit81 1700 points
look at the pictures under my avatar. when connected not to reverse the polarity
Edmund  2 points - 4/20/2013

Can I use this in turnigy 9X transmitter? How do I do?

82 thumbs up!
Received battery in perfect condition.
All cells came charged at 3.91 volts.
Description measurements are accurate.
Balance leads: 45mm
Futaba discharge lead: 70mm
JR discharge lead: 72mm

After cutting and lowering the battery floor on my Futaba 6EX 2.4 GHz, I can now use this battery or the original flat NiCd.
Charged it up to 12.6 volts, and it works fandamntastic! Another winner.
Thanks again Hobby King!

whoever plug a jr/spektrum connector to a "hitec" transmitter and found out he has a blow out (ouch!) need to learn basic electricity specially DC electric! the standard norm is Red wire =Positive... Black wire=Negative but u still going to watch out since alot of manufacturers doesn't use the "standard" color... jr/spektrum and others used brown wire = as negative so u have to watch those color coding! also on hitec transmitter, it has a safety tab if you used their "battery" so that you can't plug them in reverse... the problem is the jr/spektrum connector will fit on hitec BUT on reverse connection to use it "properly" ( please look first how your original hitec battery plug polarity i.e. positive on positive, negative on negative plug)so that you wont repeat the same mistake.. make a mark on your transmitter which is positive and negative.. please use common sense for any DC electric wiring!..

P.S. another tip: those people who are afraid of voiding their warranty and afraid that 12.6v will fried their transmitter, use a good charger that has a "storage function" like bantam.. i charged my lipo at 11.4v using the storage function.. it will not fully charge your lipo but hey a 11.4v lipo is not the same with a 11.6v nimh/nicd since they discharge differently (lipo is more efficient than nimh/nicd) which still equates to hours of uses compare to nicd/nimh before needing charges...

btw, if you don't have a storage function, you can just watch your charger charging t

Hi I ordered two of these, one for myself and the other for a friend. I had the 1800mah version before this one which was replaced by this 2500mah, great product and with spectrum and futuba plugs, I used it for the first time alst weekend and it started at the full 12.6v and after over a hours use it had only dropped to 12.4v.

I have these packs in our Futaba 7C FASST radios and it's something you'll never regret purchasing. I still have yet to charge them but when the time comes I'll make an adaptor and use my lipo charger and it will be done in an hour compared to hours and hours using the wall charger for the stock nicads.
