Examination 4S 2200mAh 4.5x4.5 propeller motor is very hot test 3S 2x1800Mah 6x4 propeller motor is lukewarm but the weight of the engine and the battery exceeds the performance

Hi, i have found this motor in my "box" and am now building a pylon-plane around it. The wings were already done, balsa-wings from a "Speedster", a 400-class-pylon-thing. The fuselage is almost ready. I plan to use this motor with 3S, have a big ESC available. So i want to know what prop i can use to bring much speedf with around 40 to 50 Amps. Any hints? Thanks a lot.

I have found this motor in Drive calculator, but it shows other values as i am seeing. Drive calc shows with an apc 5.5 x 5.4 48.7Amps and a speed of 182km/h, my measurements are 34 Amps with this setup. OK, the battery is a bit old, but it should be no problem to use a speed prop on this piece. Will try the first flight with the 5.5 x 4.5 and try a 5.5 x 6.25 later. Plane almost ready, needs elevator-servo and some minor things. Weight is about 650 grams, wingspan 60cm.

What watts output does this produce?

60A x 11,1V = ~666W I fly this in my Funjet Ultra with a 40A Plush ESC 1800mAh 4S and 4.75x4.75 Prop and works fine.

Wow, this with a 4S, that should be faaaast. I used this motor on my Projeti with 3S and a 5x5 or 5,4x5 and was quite good ...

Can I do so in the pylon racer glue with epoxy resin so? Or do I still make the front holes for cooling? target=_blank>Cooling Holes

I would recommend to let air from the front get into the motor and let the warm air out for a minimum of two holes.

7 thumbs up!
Had maiden flight today with this 480S inrunner in a Robbe Projeti. It is equiped with a Graupner CamSpeed 4,7x4,7 and draws about 42A on 3S Zippy Flightmax 2200. It produces 650g Thrust and 162km/h Speed...........

I love this Motor, the Price is awesome compared to the usual Brands..........

3 thumbs up!
I just love these motors. I did a nitro to electric conversion with one of these motors on 3s in a buggy. It flies, I have a Turnigy BEC connected and a cooling fan on the motor. I now have 3 of these and once I make some water jackets I am going to put the other 2 in a 1mtr twin cat hull. Great value for money motor.

1 thumbs up!
I mounted this in my Funjet with a Turnigy 3600 30c battery, a Hobbywing 60amp esc, and a
APC 6x4e and WOW it is the by far the fastest of the 3 different motors I have used in the Funjet. The other 2 were the turnigy 2835 2700kv and the 2835 3900kv. Im peaking 44amp draw at 514 watts. I waiting on 7 APC small props of different sizes to try on this setup. I want to get into the low 50A draw range since the motor can take up to 60A.
