An exciting and creative way to include data in your flight videos.
Eagle Tree OSD Pro system is completely modular.
Simply use your eLogger or Data Recorder, the OSD Pro Expander, and any additional sensors you want to display.
The OSD Pro is a powerful, modular, fully configurable Video/Audio On-Screen Display (OSD) device, providing graphics, voice announcements, alarms, acoustic variometer with total energy compensation, Home Arrow, Return to Home, Failsafe, RADAR, waypoints, a flight simulator for testing, and many other features. The information displayed can be as simple or advanced as you like, depending on how you configure the display, and on which optional Eagle Tree sensors are connected.
All parameters available with the eLogger V3 and Data Recorders + optional sensors will be supported for display on the OSD Pro.
Here are some examples:
GPS Parameters (Distance to Home, Home Arrow, GPS Altitude, Ground Speed,Course, and more)
Electrical Parameters (Pack Volts, Amperage, RX Volts, Servo Current, Milliamp-Hours, Watts)
Performance Parameters (Airspeed, Barometric Altitude, Climbrate, Variometer,Temperatures, RPM, G-Force, EGT, Jet ECU Status, servo positions)
Receiver Health (Dropped Frames, Antenna Fades, Missed Packets requires Spektrum or JR FlightLog compatible Receiver)
Call Sign, and many more
It does not work alone. To set up an Eagle tree OSD you need to get at least the following three items: 1)E-Logger V4(MPRV3-LD-100) 2)OSD Pro (ETS-OSD-PRO) 3)GPS (GPS-10HZ). If you want stabilization too, you need also to get 4)Guardian Stabilization Expander (ET-GUARD)
Hi Guys,
I want to use OSD for FPV, anyone can tell me how can I put the pitch and roll inputs to watch the level heli flying through the OSD in the air. For stabilization I am using Naza H, but I want to control the heli via artificial horizon in OSD.
dear all! the question is: how does it stabilyze yaw? OSD PRO has 3 servo outputs: rudder/aileron, elevator, throttle. if you connect aileron to the first one, then you have no any other option but to conect rudder directly to RX. SO how yaw is going to be stabilyzed then?? thanks
How to connect Multiple sensors ?
I would like to connect several sensors. How can i do it ? connecting a splitter (something like a servo splitter) ? Is there a schema or some instruction on how to do it ?
Thanks
If I use this with the Multiwii Pro V2.0 flight controller and GPS do I still have to buy all the sensors separate or can I connect this to flight controller and use those sensors? The Multiwiii controller already has baro, altim, mag. I already have the camera, video tx and rx. Please be specific in explaining and if possible how to... I will give credit to whoever can shed some light...thank you
You need to buy Eagletree specific sensors, like GPS,speed, altitude sensors. The only thing that will be the aftermarket Video cam that will be connected into the OSD module
Very straight forward for video The camera cable will go into the "vid in". then the cable from "video out" will go into your RF video TX
Yes! The OSD shows information that is feeding to it on the Video screen or goggles.
You would need the Elogger V3 or V4 to show information like voltage, watts, amperage, current.
Basically all the information about the battery back.
Other information like Speed,Altitute,Lat/Long, Dist to home will come from GPS Module V3 or V4
You can also use Almeter V4 sensor to give you realtime altitude utilizing baromatic sensor
otherwise just using GPS would almost give you realtime statistics.
Your flight controller has nothing to do with OSD
The multiwii pro 2.0 came with its one GPS, would it be possible to use only the eagle tree GPS and still be able to have RTH or way points or would I need have both GPS units connected (1 to fc and other to OSD)
You need to have EagleTree GPS Hooked up to Elogger V3 or V4 then from Elogger the cable is connected to OSD Pro expander.
If you haven't bought the Elogger you need to do that first.
You don't need FC GPS. You would need Eagletree GPS for it to display on the OSD and it will tell you distance with directional arrow to the home location.
Again, RTH will guide to home not automatically come home. If you need that kind of feature I would suggest DJI WKM
Here is the video I made long time back. I have Eagletree OSD pro, Elogger etc and other equipment in therer.
This video will clear some questions you have. Otherwise ask me !!

audio problems i have slight buzzing that gets louder when menus are on screen and distorted voice anouncments i have no mic and have done every thing in the manual with resistor buzz gets louder can any one help with this thanks
I'm a little confused...
Is this the main body of the OSD?
I want to get, altitude, speed, RTH and RSSI (for the ground station) Is this included in this or do i have to buy a load of other extras?!
If you want every think, is better you got the:
*Elogger(will give to your battery measure and safe parameter like altitude, speed... to opem on pc and see on Google Earth).
*GPS Expander (get altitude, speed relative to ground, and RTH, altitude and speed can increased accuracy with other expander like airspeed pitot and barometric.
*This will give to you the OSD, the parameter the elogger give to you.
*Eagle Eye ( give to you* Receiver Diversity, Antenna Tracking, Telemetry on pc in the same time you flight, Four Channel A/V Distribution, Programmable Low Voltage Alarm, Two video inputs, Two audio inputs, USB Port for connecting to PC and more...)
I have every tink and de FMA copilot... I recommend all to a good fligth.
regards
Thanking you =]
Least I know I only have to buy them 3, and im good to go, the main reason for the groundstation is antenna tracking and diversity! Now to get spending!
This is only the OSD mó*dule for Eagle Tree V4 Logger. You can use the V4 logger stand alone and read data after landing via USB with a PC. In this case you don´*t need the OSD pro and video TX/RX, but you cannot see the data on flight, you only record data to see it after flight.
If that you want is to monitor 2 or 3 different battery OSD Pro can monitor through Elogger the main batery with Volts and Amps, and other two batterys only with Volts, using TEMP1 and TEMP2 connectors with a ressistence. You can see hoe on manuals.
Yes you can power TX and Cam off a separate battery. Just dont hook up the red wire to the OSD Vid In or Vid Out. Make a loop outside the plugs so the red wire bypasses the OSD
Hi, I want to use my Wingcam with this OSD. Dose enybody know where I can get a cable that fits? It needs a AV "klinke" for the cam and a plug for the osd.
Hi Remix, we get the OSDPro and some cables ONLY. We have to buy the EagleTree 'eLoggerV4' and the GPS and all sensors, etc. SEPERATELY. The OSDPro, the GPS and the eLogger are the 3 most important. The sensors for temp, RPM, speed, altitude, etc are easy to get and lightweight. Great gear.
Anyone using this with Eagle Eyes Ground Station for a longer period of time? I've read about glitches, GPS-tracking issues and minor malfunctions on the setup, tought it was about a year ago.
Wouldn't want to lose the video-signal when flying on high altitude.
Id like to help you with some advice, but HobbyKing NEVER have this InStock so i am unable to test it. EagleTree are pretty good with updating their products, so if there is an issue it will be sorted out. You can contact Eagle Tree directly and they will sort out your problem ... even if you buy it from HobbyKing (although they never have stock). Good luck:)
Well after I have crashed/lost a plane (with all of the FPV gear in it) due to a possible Eagletree-glitch, I'm sure it's doesn't make feel better knowing that would have good support :)
What I would like to read is experiences using these equipment, possibly for a longer time.
With the intended use of the equipment there's really no room for glitches.
This is actually not true. Return to home can be used without stabalizaion although only with fixed wings. The stabalizer helps to improve it on any model but is not completely necissary.
You can buy like this and wait for it, if it is in stock you have reserved do not worry! finally it will be in stock, if you want your turn buy like that
Firstly, you should buy V4 e-logger to work this osd so that,If you have another lipo for transmitter so you can feed e-logger and camera with this battery and your lipo of model goes to osd to learn how much volts and camera goes to osd finally output of osd goes to transmitter.Hence you can see the video good luck
You must use V4 elogger with OSD pro, it don´t works alone. after this, you can connect cammera to video input pins of OSD and video TX to video output pins of OSD. You can also connect audio output of OSD to video TX (if it has sound tx). This makes you can ear voice annonces from OSD pro.
Flymentor maintain geographic position by "reading" ground with a CCD sensor on down side of heli. It works well over contrasting surfaces until about 3m high.
With the OSDPRO, Guardian and GPS option of Eagletree i think you can hold GPS position at any height, but GPS can have metters of error in some cases* because this it is not very precise to hold position.
Any camera with a video out can be connected to the Eagle Tree OSD. I haven't received my ET OSD yet, but I intend to wire it up between my GoPro 960 and video tx. Alternatively, you could use one of the 1/3 cameras more commonly and cheaply available. As for a microphone, it requires nothing more than wiring a small piezo mic easily bought from radioshack or some similar store. Depending on how far away from yourself you are intending to get, a cheap generic video tx and rx can be found fro
The built-in autopilot actually works without stabilizer, but it never knows the plane's orientation. Under some circumstances (wind gusts, turbulence, engagement of AP wjen plane is inverted etc.) this may lead to crash. So a stabilization system is highly recomended. The SS will hold the plane upright while AP will apply course corrections.
Only need estabilization system if your plane is not autostable. If it is autostable, with a good centering and triming it works. On heli, it's imperative use of electronic stabilization system.
You can forget about it, Hobbyking seems to have a huge backorder list. You'll have to wait the next arrival from Eagletree, and if you're lucky there will be enough osd....
I canceled my backorder after 2 months and bought it from another shop.
Well.... cancel or not cancel... That is the question *-) I agreed the "stock updated frequently" mention is a real joke. But, the best price I found is 30$ more 20 $ for the shipping and I will have to pay custom fees (and maybe brooker fees...). Then it is twice(or more) the price from here. As I expect to fly in june... I will wait for 15 days. After that, I will pay the big price *-( Or it will arrive here ! Thanks for your comments guys *-)
I am waiting for this too for along long time now, although I have not payed for it yet. However, you should know that they do not have a huge backorder for this one (stock = -20 today 7/May). It seems that they simply have not received any for a while...It is a pity because they make customers to buy it from elsewhere at greater price. I decided to invest in the EagleTree OSD system based on the low prices found here.
19/12/2010 2001856374 $149.31 Paid Shipped

paid a lot of money for these items LAST YEAR!! 3 months into THIS YEAR and still nothing received :( for the 1st month hobby king just sent a standard prewritten reply to EVERY email i sent :( no one listening! no one cares! meanwhile i am still $300 dollars out of pocket :( now after more than 4 months they just blank my emails :( thinking i will just let them take my money because there is nothing i can do about it :( PLEASE BE WARNED!! hobbyking is starting to act very strange :( and orders that used to take 7day to get to me now take 3weeks?
Hi, about your not recieved parcels. At last time I looked big problem with post service (HK and Nationlity). My parcel not showing on HK post more than 2 week. One of my parcel going to me 6 mounts. I have many speaking with HobbyKing, and he send me e-mail with standard answer. I was very angry. But later i recive all my order.
P.S. If you have problem with backorder of osd pro, you can visit home page and see backorder page. You will understand all delay with this product.
Sorry for my bad
one a question .also I am waiting for osd pro where I can exactly find home page where i can see backorder page. may you give me the adress link thank you for the answer please send to me "p66charly*tiscali.it"
I am in the same situation till 6 months with OSDPro on backorder. A lot of european store has the product. I asked the HK, to solve my problem, but just answered bull****s! No responsivity, no backpayment, no return. So - not only - be prepared with HK, try to forget it forever! They last step was, when my stored/secured items was disappered from his store and they was unable to ship my package after I canceled a bacordered item!!!
Hi, n3m1s1s. Sorry to hear that this cool and expensive item has caused you so much grief :( Hope i dont have the same issues as i have a temper :) LIVE SUPPORT is a good place to try, if you havent recieved your OSDPro yet my friend. Then id try TELEPHONE next. Good luck.
If you want make classic FPV system at minimum you must buy E-logger, OSD module and maybe GPS reciver the same brand. For understanding...E-logger it is a HUB. All you expanders and sensors connect to E-logger.
It would like to know if somebody could me ajudarm what I need to buy to mount my OSD FPV, would like to have my video with informaç~eos of the GPS and Volts of the battery. Which the modules that necessary of the HK. Debtor. Sergio - Brazil.

3 thumbs up!
I think this is the best OSD on the market. You can configure how you like it and there are so many add on senors. You will need the datalogger v3 to use this OSD. All other sensor like GPS, altimeter, speed-meter, brushless rpm,... are optional.
Eagle tree delivers perfect support and the developing of the firmware is continued. Many user suggestions are already implemented and more to follow.
Awesome deal!! Log in and the price is lowered when you add it to your cart. Comes with instructions and 5 Futaba style servo leads that are about 4" long.

Works flawlessly, and et support is top notch, even if purchased from here, and not directly from them. Have a problem, send it to them, instead of hk, and they send you a new one. Cant live without it now
