I received this one as a Christmas gift and have a few of issues so far. 1st one of the Landing Gear would not fullly retract. Jammed about 80% down and had to replace it. 2nd the gear struts were to the wire that the wheel mounts on were loose. Had to take all of this apart to tighten everything up. 3rd the Gear doors would never line up, and are flemsy and cheap. Just decided to leave them off as I feel they are going to cause more problems than they are worth, and lastly the wings are not drilled for the wing spars... I have not yet decided how I am going to handle that, but will post an update when I do.

Eeeeeee, if I were you I would contact HK support or return the plane. It would be pretty difficult to drill out the holes straight and even for the wing spars without messing something up. Let me know if you have already solved the problem as I am curious to how this can be fixed... That's the first I've heard of something like that happening.

Got the problem worked out... It was hollow inside and did not have to poke in too far.. Going to work out ok.

Purchased one of these before christmas in the sale week,am I glad I did not pay more for it?
This is a list of faults etc,
Canopy damaged
Tail wheel not attached to rear fusalarge.
Poor quality foam, it has reacted to the paint on the upper wing also dents and crush damage.
Poor quality prop hub.
Esc 45A seems a tad underated also no BEC (8xservos?)
So a few things need to be sorted.
I have the unboxing on Youtube and I will be doing a build blog on the RCME web site in the UK.
Will update soon.

verry angry! 2 servos were %&^$ed retracts are verry flimsy and all bolts were striped!! disappointed hobby king :( :(

Yep, mine didnt come with those rods that connect to both ailerons and flaps. Anyone else got this issue?

All of my rods were in a small bag taped to the bubble wrap packing

I got my rods, but the wings were but drilled for the rods... Got them all lined up to install and when I went to line they up, they were not there.

I have difficulty resolving the disparity in the weight of the aircraft, in the spec. it is 2300g, and in the the bar beneath the weight is stated as 5469g quite a disparity, any explanation ????

The 5469g is the total weight of the plane with all shipping and packing material.

Yes,the shipping weight is worked out volumetrically,length x width x height divided by a K factor which is set by the shipping agent,generally 4000 or 5000 depending on the company.

Are you just buying the p-51 or other items as well. I had this problem because i wanted to order to planes and it was too big to ship from the international warehouse. You made have to put in two separate orders.

Only my shopping cart with the same items, because the P-51 weighs 5469g, can be shipped to my country can not exceed 5500g, but the P-51 long a grace over the limit can not be sent. Do not know that there are ways to solve this problemit?

If your just getting the P-51 then it should be able to be shipped to you. I have the same 5500g weight limit here to the US. I had to order the plane by itself and make another order for some parts.

That is exactly my friend had and he did fly 4000 4s. Even can be done with 5000 4s. So don't worry my friend.

2 weeks ago i have receive this plane (P-51D black color) The model is good.It was a real fun to build it.Next week i got this plane in the air - perfect.But i have some questions to the person who design this model.Where did you see the canopy like you made it?Why did you use a wrong markings for the plane?You mix 3 planes in one: paint job from P-51D "Temptation" Lettering from "Gunfighter",name of the plane are not belong to any of them.If you try to make a scale model at lease take a good look on a original.

The current power setup draws no more than 38 amps on a 4S1P spinning a stock 4-bladed prop. 20C is more than sufficient.

It turns more then that The 45 amp esc that came with it was getting hot so I know its pulling more then that on a 4 blade. Use a 15x10 2 blade

LowWing I would love to but I'm in Akron and you might want to see me fly my P-51D from Nitro. Had it for about 4 months. I think this one is even nicer and if it flies as well as the one I have, it will be well worth the money. I think I might buy this one too.And it does say 6 ch in the description.

LowWing: Yes I am flying pretty much stock.I had to replace the landing gear servos with metal gear servos. The stock ones stripped pretty easily. I think the gear is the only weak part to the plane.

Just received the p-51 from HK. Packaging was A , shipping A , how the plane looks A , construction B. The only beef so far is in the construction, the instructions are a JOKE! Being this is a large scale model the need to have a removeable main wing is critical, lucky transport is not an issue for me but for a smaller vehicle owner this is a problem! The kit includes glue on control horns, if you use these I've got some swamp land for sale (any takers!).All in all though, for this price it's a awsome buy highly recomend it. Now I'm looking forward to the naxt in the series Maybe a Sturmovick, or a JU-87, or a Typhoon, Boy do I like to dream Peace out and trust no one.

Das Modell kann in ca. 2 Stunden zusammengebaut werden. Die Originalversion mit Lipo 4 S ist sehr sehr langsam und das Fahrwerk sehr "unstabil". Ich werde das Modell auf Lipo 5 S mit groesserem Motor und ohne Fahrwerk umbauen - als Wurfmodell. Ansonsten ist die Qualitaet des Modells sehr gut und stabil und macht viel Spass.
