Mi Digital High Torque Metal Gear Servo JR/Hitec 10kg / 0.10 / 52g
The HK Mi Series servos represent the next break through in high precision servo technology. Using Magnetic Induction, rather than a potentiometer, for an unsurpassed level of accuracy and performance.
Mi : Magnetic Induction, uses a Magnetic Rotary Encoder in place of a traditional potentiometer (invented in 1877). Magnetic Rotary encoders have a longer life and suffer less wear.
i need servo but i don't use for hobby. i designed a selection machine with basic robo arm two axis. it works with rc servo. but a lot of servo is break down. i don't need torque. i need max speed 0.10-0.15 sec/60 deg. and only 3-5 kg. torque. but i need long life. because it will work 8-10 hours per day. aprox. 500 times left-right 50 degree per 1 hour. some servos using plastic magnet. theese are not long life.
And price is most important because i need servos aprox 500-750 pieces. please advice to me for choice correct servo. if you advice HK MI series it price is good. magnetic encoders is long life i have heard it.
thanks for interest.
Sounds like you will need industrial-grade servos. They do come in small torque high speed specs and you should be able to get good pricing with an order of such large quanity. You might want to google for 'Industrial Brushless Micro Servo" and perhaps give Alibaba a go - Purchase cautiously! These hobby-grade servos might not live up to your needs as they are brushed servos and there isn't a Brushless MI, yet.
If your definition of 'long life' relates to durability of the gears then yes, its! Since it is Magnetic Induction based, the gears do not have a stopper on it! Which means if ever your robotic arm were to accidentally go beyond the limits, it won't break any stoppers. I think you can also modify it to rotate unlimited 360 degrees! However, if it is constantly on peaking loads, this servo might break down fast from the electronics prespective, mainly due to it's full-plastic casing which does no
im planing to get 600 heli for some time now, saving atm but i would like to know if this would be a good cyclic servo for 600 heli, enough torque? thanks
How robust is the case? Could you make the inside pics as well?
I already broke 3 servos from the inside (the parts of case that hold gear shafts broke).
Jason would like to know this servant is produced by hobbycity?
there are other servo on the market with this new technology or you are the only ones to produce this?
thanks
There are higher spec MI servos with coreless motors on Bluearrows site.
The specs are really impressive!
Ex.0.04s/60deg and 5.1kg*6V
or 0.07s/60deg and 10.8kg*6V
Don't run these at over 280hz, the digital amplifier can handle the frequency (as per the specs on blue Arrow's website) but the servo's heat dissipation isn't enough to get rid of the excess head and it will cook itself to death, especilly if used on a gyro. Stay at 250hz and it's a good servo.
Actually I take that back, they seem to run fine at 333hz with no overheating. It may depend on your gyro. I would try running it at 333hz and if it starts getting too hot drop down to 250hz YMMV

These servos work nice for HK600GT cyclic, good speed and centering is spot on. I like this better than my Align DS610 servos so far. Have only used for few weeks so can't comment on how well they hold up long term. If you buy these for HK600GT/TRex600 you also need to purchase about 30 servo plates as these are very deep and will need multiple servo plates to bring them out away from the frame or they will hit on the inside preventing you from mounting the servo. You will also need to add large capacitor soldered to /- leads from BEC to receiver if your BEC is a switching type as most are. They will make lots of noise/heat without it and could cause brown out, I used 2 x 3500uf 16volt in parallel from HK found in RX/TX accessories and have had no issues so far.

Used on a 1/8 car. Very fast and powerfull, but very weak...
Broke the gearing after 10 mins (no hardcore driving)!
The gears are too weak and alloy is very poor quality, could not last very long anyway. One of the gear lost 10 tooth !
Unfortunately HK doesn't have spare gears for this so servo will end in the trash.

I fitted one of these to a RAPTOR 50 on the gyro for the rudder and it has run for over a year now and the tail of the RAPTOR is rock solid.
Excellent standard sized servo which I am running in my BAJA (King Motor 260S with 26cc)Never lost centering with this servo. I recommend that you purchase a metal servo arm for this servo, dont trust a plastic arm to continuesly push throttle for a 26cc gas motor. This servo requires JR splined arms
