The Slick 360 is one of the hottest looking aerobatic aircraft around but like all models in this class, looks alone are not enough, so it's a good thing that the Hobbyking Slick has been designed with one thing in mind, extreme 3D aerobatics!
The quality of this Slick is simply as good as it gets, the airframe has been constructed to keep the flying weight minimal but strong enough to take the punishment of extreme aerobatics, the superb quality covering has been expertly applied and for the final touch, the cowl, canopy and wheel pants are finished in a deep gloss paint. The hardware is excellent & also chosen to keep flying weight to an absolute minimum and of course the model features plug in wing & CF wing tube as you would expect for easy transportation.
The H-King Slick 360 performs every inch as good as it looks, naturaly it makes for a great sport plane but it would be fair to say that hardcore 3D is what the Slick has been designed for. The precision of the airframe, stunning looks, top line quality and amazing feather weight specs make the Slick 360 a must have plane for all aerobatic and 3D pilots!
Features: Amazing looks Top quality construction and covering Easy and fast to build Ultra light weight but strong airframe Superbly applied, high quality covering Full airfoil empenage Excellent colour scheme for easy orientation Stunning 3D capability Quick field assembly, easy to transport

can anybody tell me what this slick and the 3 d h s slick have in common? i fly both and i can not find anything that is similar (copied). both are slick models und both are balsa wood. this is a light balsa construction like hundreds of other planes to. we built planes this way simce 1982. there is nothing copied.
So many people waiting for buying this plane unfortunately it is out of stock since monthns at int warehouse, but it is in stock all around the world warehouses and nobody buys them. Out of stock where it should be, And in stock where it shouldnt be :). And finally we are still waiting. Come on HK hurry up please ?
Hello Folks, do you think this servos will work with the airplane:
Turnigy 380MG Micro Servo (Metal Gear) 3.6kg / .15sec / 15.6g
Thank you very much for your answers.
The specs of this servo look good but the reviews are bad.. so if you don't have these alredy then i think you should get other ones like those - TGY-2216MG (I'm using them on my slick and thy are graet!!)
Thank you very much for your answer. I also was thinking in that servo and I'm really pleased that a plane's owner tells me it works fine.
Can you tell me what extra long servo arms can I use with this servo? I've been looking at Hobbyking**** but I'm not sure about what would it be the correct one.
Since in RCGroup thread: "Turnigy SLICK 3D 1.3M -HOBBYKING Official Build Thread", Dean Eberly, from Hobbyking, recommended use long servo arms, I wonder if you're using it and which one.
Once again, thank a lot for your help.
JFR
I'm glad to help :) I use these servo arms HK002-5
two pairs. they will give you the max throw the controls can move :) you will enjoy this plane so much!! i also have a 50cc yak 55m and i like the slick more! if you need anything els just say :)
Also, if you haven't order a motor already you should get this one: NTM Prop Drive Series 42-38 750kv / 785w
I have it on mine and its amazing!
BTW I use zippy compact 2700mah 4s 35c battery
Hello, Thanks a lot for your advise. For the motor, I have an Eflite Power 46 670Kv. I am gonna try this one. About servo arms, unfortunately, the servo arms you suggested are out of stock. Can I use HK002-2 servo arms? Do you think there are a better options? Thank you. JFR
You can use these servo arms: OR032-01501
About the motor i think the Eflite is waaay to heavy for this model, 290 grams with about the same power like the NTM has.. and the NTM is only 170 grams.
I think you should keep this plane as light as possible, mine weighs 1400 grams without the battery.
Thank you very much, I'm really grateful for your kindness. I share your concern about weight, and I think my setup is very close to yours. Here are the math: the motor weight is 290gr, I'm going to use a ZIPPY Compact 2200mAh 4S 25C Lipo Pack, which weighs 210gr. I'm not going to use a spinner. Total weight is 500gr. Your setup (motor battery) weighs 455gr, so we're pretty close. If you use a spinner (Can you tell me which one?), I think we'll have the same weight. I bought the airplane some days ago, and now I'm wating for it to arrive to my home in Bogotá*, Colombia. This is gonna be my first attempt to built a balsa plane, so I'm really excited and expectant. Because of that, I wanna ask you another favor: Can you upload some pictures where I can check the servo arms instalation and Ball and roller links instalation? Thank so much, Have a great day.
you'r very welcome! i use this spinner: 9329000049
i will try to upload some photos of the plane to the files tab soon..
what do you mean by "Ball and roller links installation"?
yes, exacly like the picture...too bad on backorder now. i bought 2, 1 for diy, training, mod...another for spare!!! haha...flies good, keep it light. can use 3s or 4s. get a good motor though..mine hacker a30 10xl!! goes balistic with 4s, climb 300m in few seconds...
hello. Somebody know if the servo HK-922MG Digital Metal Gear Servo 1.8kg/ 12g/ 0.07sec (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_vie wItem.asp?idProduct=14279) is Strong enought to do 3D flight with this plane? the plane spec say: "Flying Weight: 1300g~1500g (Approx)" and the servo spec say: "Stall Torque: 1.6kg.cm / 1.8kg.cm " So I think is compatible But I'm not sure if this info is parameter.
The weight of the model is not a parameter. You match a servo to a model acording to the size of model's control surfaces and the style of flying.
In my HK Slick there are 3.1 kg of torque servos..
You can use the 1.8 kg servos but i think it will not be enough for hard 3D...
Good luck and happy flying
Noam
I agree with luckypilot. my servos are putting out about 2.9g torque. the servos you are asking about will be ok for sport/fun fly but I don't think they will handle any hard 3d.
Please Make this Slick through the German warehouse. It's available everywhere except in Germany. Many European customers like me would be glad to order it right away. So please, support this request and HK, listen to our prayers. Thanks
has anyone cut open the servo bays to install larger servos? if so, is there alot of wood there to work with or is cutting open the sheeting and glueing in new wood necessary? 12g just seems kind of small for this plane, i would rather use 26g (i have layin around) just like i used in my moneyshot........
I've had the covering off the fuselage to repair some damage, including replacing some of the wood near where the servos go in the tail. My take on it having seen the ply reinforcement is that you can open the hole enough to take 26mm long servos (standard hole is for 23mm servos).. but that's about the limit.
Savox SH-0255MG fit into the standard holes without modification and have plenty of power.
It is possible to open larger bays, but you have to reinforce the area, tail bays are specially weak tough.
Best thing you can do is make a 1 mm carbon fiber servo tray with woven CF sheet using www.link
how the plane is built. its skin is a thin balsa sheet. the servo mount is simply a plywood sheet hot glued to the skin(not mountet to any other structure. the ply sheet is only about 1/4", so if you need to install larger servo you will need to rebuild the mount.

William I really hope you are buying some of these plane. (HK do watch). Once a fornt of the mount is required. The mount is drilled for both but once again you would need a motor with a very long prop shaft to mount the other way!
Are these in stock or not?
When i put it in my cart is says *This item usually ships within 7 days.
I have learnt never to backorder anything on hobbyking.
bdillon it is in stock Now not on BK the "This item usually ships within 7 days" is the standard comment on when you order an item. It takes time for a item to be packed and shipped. Go a head and order it will be fine. I hope this helps
great looking slick, looking alot like 3Dhs slick minus the stars. should of copied the 59" one instead. Still great alternative if after a cheap 3d plane. Remember, you get what you pay for!
And if you have the money for one, they are fantastic, but for those of us who don't, this is a much better choice. Dean Eberly himself said that this was an unbelievable flying airplane. Look on RC Groups.
u do know that dean is employed by hk? that immediately makes his opinion invalid...now if 3dhs said that this was an amazing flyer.....u dont ask ur mommy if u r smart right?
who said anything about dishonesty? biased opinions are in-objective and therefore invalid. ever hear of double blind studies? wonder why a judge cannot preside over a case where the defendant is a relative? do u know what would happen if an elective official awards a big contract to his brother's company? when graduate high school and use those sat scores to get into a good university, u will learn of these things
can anybody tell me what this slick and the 3 d h s slick have in common? i fly both and i can not find anything that is copied. both are slick models und both are balsa wood. this is a light balsa construction like hundreds of other planes to. we built planes this way simce 1982. there is nothing copied.
Depends on what size motor you want to use ,with that said you can check the shecs acording to what ever power system you use. Motor comes first then propsize and depends on typ of flying you intend to do .
You are going to want a 700 to 750kv motor in the weight that is recommended. Then a 14x7 to 15x6 rop will be what you will needed. (this is for a 3D style setup to bive you the most usable prop wash and power. I have this same size plane with a 750KV motor and a 14x7 prop. Awesome power and enough airflow for smoother yet responsive post stall flight. I have a video of a maiden of a 51inch slick with this power setup in it. Check out losifanatic on you tube. "Maiden of the overweight 51 slick"
Well, if I am correct, it was designed to be a cheaper alternativeto the 3DHS 51" Slick. If this one is successful, they may came out with one that is a cheaper version of the 71" Slick.
Yeas a 3s 3300 to 4000mah will work. you will want a motor with a higher KV like 950 to 1000kv with a 14 to 15inch prop. You will want to get atleast 700watts(minumum) (800watts is better) (again this is for a 3D style setup)
There's no way a 1000kV motor will swing a 14 or even 15 inch prop on 3s. It will pull way too many amps at that kV rating and probably melt the windings.
You are better running around 700kV and 4s to spin the 14 or 15inch prop for this plane.
Mathew, are you sure that kV on that motor was actually 950? A lot of the hobbyking motors are always way below the specified kV hence your 950kV might have actually only been 870kV or something like that.
You can happily spin a 14x7 on a good motor at 870kV, I have several planes doing exactly that. On fresh lipo and WOT it pulls 55amps and over 600W.
I defy you to generate 800W on 3s motor though, you would need to be running over 60 amps which is danger territory for any motor wound to 1000kV.
This plane and weight will do much better on 4s just like the 3DHS plane does. Get a 700kV motor and prop it to 800W with 14 or 15 inch prop.
I was pulling 850watt on my 3s setup. My hacker motor broke and had this until I got it fixed. It was a turnigy motor. Handled it well and flew good for low slow 3D. I didnt use it for any WOT extended runs. Though you are right its not an ideal setup. A 4s setup is much better (I like a 750KV over a 700 but not much of a big deal) Its just that the 3s works if thats what you have.
Mathew, can you please post the link to the specific turnigy motor that you claim can handle well over 60amps in 3s flying.
I am sorry but I just don't believe it.
Its one thing to get a spike reading of 850W for short 1 or 2 second burst on the bench but totally different doing this over and over again in the flight.
wow nice looking plane, as mentioned before airfoiled elevator stab and rudder definetly resembles 3dhs slick lookwise hopefully qualisy is good. i would at least use a 4s setup in this plane if not 5s.
This plane is awesome. I bought it as a replacement for my 3DHS 51" slick that I recently crashed. The 3DHS slick was a superb flying plane and judging from the 8 flights I've had with this one it's every bit as good, well done HK! Build quality is as good as any I've seen. I'm using a KDA 36-12XL 770Kv motor, turnigy dlux 70A ESC, nanotec 3000maH 25C, APC 15x7, castle 10A BEC, TGY-375DMG servos (TGY-2216MG servos would be better). Servo holes are approx 24x12.5mm. AUW is 1650g, about 100g lighter than the 3DHS slick using the same setup. Hovers easily at half throttle, flight times are 8-10mins. Flight characteristics seem very similar to the 3DHS slick, very stable harrier, very easy to hover, good flat spins. Wingtip spins are excellent, they're easier to initiate than with the 3DHS slick and the spin rate is higher. Recommended CG was perfect at 99mm.

Fine model, in excellent execution. Quality of manufacturing 5 . Weight of all elements of a design from a box/packing 799 g. Cowl, lantern of a fuselage with a fuselage and a wheel of a direction =370 g; Wing left =123 g; Wing right = 128 g; Pipe карбон = 21 g; The chassis duralumin 43 g; The stabilizer and elevator = 63 g; Fairing of wheels 2*14 = 28 g; Accessories (wheels, drafts, a management small horn, fixture) = 51 g (in packing). Total: 370 123 128 43 63 51 21 = 799 g. Label didn't weigh... Unique element from the complete set not answering to a good response, this connection of wings and a fuselage - carbon a pipe in diameter of 12,6 mm, a case for a connecting pipe of 13,6 mm..., wings dangle.

Very very good quality. No issues in covering or in frame. One thing had disturb my satisfaction. In my Slick I needed to bore holes in wing endings (which keep wing to the fuselage) with a file. Previously I flew with EF Edge 540EXP 48" in this class. Slick flies really good. Now it too early to say if it can fly better or worse than airframe like EF. My setup is SK3 4240 740kv with APC 14x7E (will try Xoar 14x6 electric), K-Force 40A, Savox 0255MG all around, 2650/4s/30c. This motor fits perfectly regarding the gap between spinner and cowl. The only thing I've changed are pushrods with ball ends. This setup weight is 1658g. In near future I will change ESC cause peak current with fresh battery is 65A with 14x7E and 15 deg timing. Hoover at 40-45pcnt throttle :D Anyway it proove that K-Forces are bulletproof ESCs :) Second thing I'm thinking of is to make Side Force Generators at wing tips like in EF airframes. All in all, Slick is very well built and covered with quality as good as big brand airframes.
