A good Engine

I bought this engine ot replace a ST60 blue head.
After few difficoluties in getting first start, then engine showed to be really easy to set up, starts in a few flips when not at first, with lot of power (spins a 15x8 prop at 14.500 rpm).
I'm using it with fwd carburetor because on the backplate have installed a RPM transducer.

Very good motor. I was advised to buy a Japanese motor but thought I would try these a try as the cost of the Japanese versions was getting stupid. I fly in Australia, so at just over $85AU what could I loose? I ran in with one tank and did the rest flying.... Very good and reliable engine. I also have a 90 which is also awesome. The Japanese, expensive motors will no longer appear in my hangar!!! ASP is less expensive and are as reliable and powerful as the un-named Japanese versions. Give them a go, I know you won't be disappointed......!!!!!

Great engine, fitted to Tiger 60, 70" span sport aerobat. Loads of pull for aerobatics in this 7lb plane, Use 10pcnt nitro fuel and 12x6 prop.

These ASP engines are a smoking good deal! I ran break-in on 25pcnt nitro and after about one liter of fuel it was really screaming. I'm flying in the Rocky Mountains at 4,400 feet ASL and the thin air is tough on engines. But this Asp 61 turns 12x8 at 12K,and the APC 13x6 and 14X4 at about 11K. With a 300cc tank it will fly insane acrobatics for about 12 to 13 minutes. The weight compared to electric systems is much less and the flight times are more than double. It is not excessively loud with the standard muffler and throttle response is as good as the electrics. It's much better for 3D work than any four-stroke and it always starts on the first flip. electric starter is not needed. These old tech 2-stroke ABC 10cc engines are legendary, I can see why. Vibration is much less than I expected and about 100 dB less than the 4-strokes. Buy some of these while they are dirt cheap. This 61 ABC is NEW for less than what you can pay for a used engine on eBay. This is one of HobbyKings best market offers.

Have one of these in a 84" scratch built Stick. HK #3 plug , 6 nitro, Master S-2 13x6 prop
Runs well after approx. 60 mins running, still on rich side. Don't know about running on the smaller recommended props, swings the 13" with ease. Best motor for price I've ever owned.

Been running 3 of these 61s in various air frames for 3 years, best value for money, always start easy even after long storage, runs a 13x6 prop in a 60 size Boomerang with ease, also have os 61, the power is comparable in both, little diffrence, 10pcnt nitro, 18pcnt oil, highly recommend.

I bought one of these .61 engines for my 60 Big Stik. as my Tower Hobbies engine blew a piston. I could not get parts for the tower right away, so I ordered the ASP to replace it. I have flew the plane with the new motor, and I am pleased with it. Looks like it will need to run in a little, does not seem to be as hot as the tower was. Time will tell. Other then that looks like it will be a good motor.
