Looking for a ready to fly trainer? or an in-expensive FPV platform? Maybe you are a club pilot looking for something you can just pull out of the car and fly on one of those lazy Sunday afternoons? The Hobbyking® ™ Bixler® ™ ticks all of these boxes and more!

The Bixler® ™ has all the right ingredients, made from super tough EPO foam, everything is pre-installed so minimal assembly time is required, in fact, by the time you have charged the included battery with the supplied charger, it should be ready to fly!

Stop Press!!

Allow us to introduce the Bixler® ™ V1.1 with a myriad of improvements over the original Bixler® ™.
Our v1.1 features relocated elevator and rudder servos, now closer to the tail and accessible via a magnetic hatch on the underside of the fuselage. Why? you may ask - This allows much more usable space inside the front section of the fuselage, something that FPV'ers are going to thank us for! We have also updated the included hardware to include better quality components, such as the new 4 bolt control horns on all surfaces. We also include 2 different propellers, one for high speed and the other for carrying heavier payloads.
You - our customers spoke, we listened! The end result is the Bixler® ™ V1.1!

Full 4 channel control is a must for new pilots and experienced pilots alike and the included 2.4ghz radio, & 6 channel receiver combo is packed with plenty of features, including a range test button for peace of mind, a mix facility, servo reversing and a trainer port!

This is my first plane. Received the package in about a week from the USA Warehouse. Package was received in great shape but am missing eight (8) of the little control part screws (should have received a total of 16... 4 control horns X 4 screws). I'm going round and round with Hobby King's lackluster customer service dept... they want me to weigh and photograph the entire kit. I don't own a scale or know anyone who does. Maybe Hobby King can send me a scale?? I sent a photo of the screws but all I get are the "standard" directions to weigh all the parts, packaging, etc, with a scale accurate to /- 5 grams. The tiny screws probably weigh less than a gram anyway so how would it be detected by a /- 5 gram scale?? I'm very happy with the plane's appearance and ease of assembly but don't think I'll buy anything from Hobby King again... not worth the headache. Better off finding a local hobby shop and paying a few extra bucks for customer satisfaction and support. All this over 8 screws worth less than $2.

Lovin the bixler as my first RC fixed Wing. Apart from a mishap with my maiden flight (had the elevator channel reversed break out the glue) Apart from this minor mishap the Bix 1.1 crack along nicely. So far had a 30 minute flight gliding about on the supplied 1800mah Battery. The only thing that I'd advise is to port the fuselage otherwise the ESC heats up and the lipo gets a bit warm. Apart from that this is a great buy.

An easy p&f model. Mine arrived in good condition, assembled easily and was ready to fly in rapid time. BE CAREFUL the adhesive on all of the pre-fitted aileron horns etc did not hold at all. A quick fix is to cut a small square of ice-cream container plastic cover as a backing plate for each horn (colour coordinated of course!!). Drill a pilot through in 2 places on each horn, one front ,one back. Attach screws thru from the horn side and make sure they come through the plastic squares on the top-side. Use the finest screw you have (you can buy them cheaply here at HK) I would recommend doing this on any pre-installed horn on any model control surface....great insurance. Then you can enjoy the flying fun to come!! Bixler is a beaut teaching and learning airplane.

This plane is very good, easy to fly, crashed it once and only the canopy came off. awesome plane for beginners that are getting into flying. Easy to build! I run my 2200mah 20 c 3s lipoly battery and it goes really well. This battery will only fit if you take out the weights in the front of the plane. Also great for fpv! good on you HK! :)

Good:
Comes 90pcnt assembled.
You can dissasamble it for transportation.
Control is very simple.
You can fix it after almost every crash with reinforced tape and some toothsticks.
bad:
Radio is not perfect, i was lost control 3 times and plane was not more than 1km distance.
Main wing rod very thick and broke after 2 crashes, so i replaced it with alu rod.
Control surfaces mounts without hinges, so you must buy some to fix them after crash.
Prop is very thick and cant give you much power, so replace it as fast as you can.
PS: buy another one in kit version (like i do) to fix your great bixler.

HI GUYS, Ihave had my BIXLER for about a month now and boy what a pleasure it is. I have set mine up with a 30amp esc and run a 3s 2000ma battery. Iclimb up to abouy 500 feet cut the throtle trim the glide speed back to about 5 knots above the stall. In this configuration it takes about 12 minutes to come down even with no thermals.I have had flights up to nearly one hour from one battery. You have to feel sorry for any modeler who hasn"t got one of these. HAPPY FLYING regards JOHN R.

I glued the model together with Epoxy as some types of glue eat into the foam. It is well formed and I am looking foward to flying it when the weather improves.

Easy to set up. Quite easy to fly. After 5 charges of the battery, the charger died. (red light on and green light flashes constantly) Picked up a new AC charger from a local hobby shop for $30.

Today from about 30 meters up, I managed to nose dive it into the ground. The LHS snapped from the front to the wing area but the rest of the plane survived. Have glued it all back together and taped it up and its good to go again!! Doesn't look as pretty though.

Good cheap fun!! Reccommended

Can we have spare parts in the AUS Factory please?

Came to me damaged with a wing edge cracked, easily fixed. Parcel was in mint good condition. Assembly manual really basic and was impossible to assemble using the information in the manual. As someone entering RC, I had to look online at which way the control horns go, how its wired and such. HK sent me a left handed radio despite ordering this right handed version.

Stock ESC (Speed Controller) heats up with regular flying with the stock setup. Washers in the nose are on the left increasing torque roll despite me mounting everything on the right hand side of the plane.

Easy to fit, rudder and elevator go into position at 90 degrees perfectly. Wings should have Velcro or magnets to hold them together instead of having to glue them in.

Carbon fiber tube in wings is flimsy, get a good 5mm ROD, not tube. Very easy to fly, elevator has too much control even with lowest throws.
