I only got my skymule today so the review is about the building
first my points of criticism to the kit:
-the manual only applies to the PNF version. So no instructions how to build the plane. Despite it is not a complicated it would have been nice to have
-The nacelles intersect with the EPO of the main landing gear so you need some work with a hobby knife
-engine mount is only suitable for the stock engine. I don't think a lot of KIT builders use the stock engines otherwise they would have bought the PNF version ;)
-The centre wing is pre assembled. That is nice but they also installed I y cable for the ailerons. I had the plan to use 2 separate channels for differential steering but I will leave it as is.
-there is a nice y-cable in the kit for connecting 2 esc's to 1 battery with 3.5mm gold connectors on the esc side but no counter connectors.
-Some EPO parts have a to tight fit in my oppinion. I really had to put some force to install the horizontal stabilizers.
-the nose cone doesn't have magnets so it is glued in place

despite these points I'm still impressed by the kit. It feels rigid and I can't wait to fly the skymule. I bought the skymule on sale for 90eu and that's a very nice price imo

Not able to mount the wings :-( Broke one trying. (No spare parts). My mounting screws are way shorter than those in replacement kit? I dont want to glue wings together.. Very disappointed with that...

I would not advise one to take on the kit unless they either have a good bit of building experience, or they have a mentor who does that can guide them along. See pages 3 & 4 in the instruction manual you can download from the file tab above, as that is ALL the instructions available from Hobby King or DuraFly. Beginning with the two fuselage sides which are NOT glued together, through the final assembly and hooking up of the electronics, you will have many questions. Some of the videos on YouTube.com, (search on Sky Mule), will give you some help. I would advise you to see the one on reinforcing the nose gear, and do that during assembly. One plus is that you have the opportunity to make those special modifications for your own use as you go. If you haven't tried it before, the Sky Mule is also a great platform for your first FPV system, or even just a camera. In setting up propeller rotation, I would advise you to set the right engine for CW, and the left for CCW (viewed from the front) to allow motor torgue to help offset any asymmetrical thrust in the case of a motor failure. When all is done, though, you will have a beautiful aircraft to be proud of, and show off at the field. My rating is conditional assuming the builder has adequate experience.

Just received this kit which looks to be of good quality. Plenty of videos/reviews around to help with construction.

My only complaint is that I also purchased the recommended Donkey motor. This no way to fit this motor in the provided nacelles without major surgery.

very good quality, packaging is huge and will cost a fortune if you use dimensional weight shipping service, nonetheless the quality of the packing will keep the plane safe in transit

Inconvnient : Plein pot j'ai un bruit de cavitation d'hlice qui est pas beau, mais surtout je n'ai pas le ronron caractristique des bimoteurs, je suis un peu du, les Speed 400 avec les petite Gunter faisaient un bruit gnial sur les twinstar. Sinon il est trs silencieux et pas la peine de dpasser mi-gazs.



Avantages : L'avion est trs vite mont, c'est sympa, et a fait un gros machin ventru, il a un look en l'air c'est certain. Les moteurs treuillent comme un diesel, c'est trs plaisant, ds 1/4 de gazs, on sent que a pousse fort.

Dcollage nickel, mme pas de trims reprendre. Pas de couple la con lors de la mise de gazs en palier. Dcrochage gentil finalement, accepte d'tre ralenti, mais curieusement, il avance trs vite et couvre beaucoup de distance.

Les commandes sont super vives, douces et homognes, a inspire confiance d'entre, j'avais encore jamais vu a sur un engin comme a. Je vole avec 1/3 de gazs, mais il incite voler avec du moteur cet engin, c'est bizarre.

Ca tourne toute la voltige de base, vrilles, tonneaux, cercles en tonneau, mme les dclenchs, c'est trs sympa, sans jamais tre pigeux. Atterros gentils comme tout malgr la tempte hier soir.



Les montes sont verticales sous 2/3 de gazs, sinon a accepte de prendre une grosse pente de monte, a ralentit mais il dcroche trs tard, je pense que les hlices soufflent l'aile et crent une portance "artificielle" qui fait qu'il ne dcroche pas. Quand il dcroche, il abat violemment

Ok this thing is a blast to fly it handles as it should it feels big you need to place in its path on landing it doesn't land itself like some planes this might seem like a negative as the modern focus is on easy to fly planes. This is not what I would call easy to fly it is rewarding to fly with high levels of performance. although it is difficult in high cross wind landings it was the most fun i've had doing cross wind landings in a long time. I fly mostly 3d planes and you just correct your approach angle with a vary predictable rudder. This thing makes you think while cross wind landing landing. If you are a good pilot it will tell you if you are not it will tell you. Thats my experience with it I never yet have flown it on a calm day.

What a sweet twin this is. I used this for an FPV setup. Flying 4000mh 3s for the flight pack and 1800 4s for the electronics. I used Turnigy 3536/9 910kv swinging 3 blade 10x5 props (Push and pull), plush 30amp esc's Flight times around 10 minutes flying at half throttle. Very good flight characteristics, even with all the gear and becoming a heavy bird, she flies like shes on rails, floats nicely and does not stall turn easy.

Body too wide to grim for small hands, making hand launch very difficult. The Mule has a nice presence in the air, though. I ended selling mine and revert to my TwinStar2 and my twin motor mod Phoenix 1600.
