I bought this plane in sale for 56 Euros and it takes a lot of effort and work to make this baby fly. The landing gear mount must be reinforced, the Elevator Balsa breaks easily and is too thin. The Canopy does not fit properly and the Cowl is slightly too small for the fuselage. I fly it with 3S 3000-3300mAh Lipo batteries, Turnigy XP 3548/1100KV brushless motor swingig a Turnigy 13x6 wooden E-Prop and a YEP 60A ESC. Goes unlimited vertical with this setup but for 3D the Rudder deflections are too less. This EXTRA 260 is very light but also very fragile. It flies very good and is easy to land. All in all its sure wirth the money but you have to be patient and must invest many hours too be satisfied in the end.Nice looking plane. Mounting was easy, took me 3hrs. Waiting for the turnigy 4240 800kv brushless motor for 13*6.5 APC and 4s lipo.
Hope it wille do some 3D extreme, will see.....
Overall good qualityHeb model overal verstevigd met latten. Motorschot versterkt. Landingsgestel vervangen door HK carbon. Bok voor lanndingsgestel binnenin verstevigd.
Motor Prop Drive 42-38 met een 13 x 4 prop op 4S 3300 MAH. Gaat prima.
Gewicht totaal 1750 gram.
Binnenin de romp zit stukje doorzichtig plastic geplakt. Dit moet eruit om zwaartepunt goed te krijgen met accu. Zwaartepunt heb ik op 85 MM.
Leuk uitziend model, maar heeft wel aandacht nodig bij het bouwen.
Bij de maiden vloog de cockpitkap eraf. Model heeft luchtinlaat maar geen luchtuitlaat. Door de opgebouwde druk schoot de kap die met magneten vast zit eraf. Schade viel mee.
Heb nu achteraan twee luchtuitlaten gemaakt.
Cockpitkap wil ik nog vastzetten met een pennetje o.i.d.
beautiful model, built clean and of good qualityThis is my 2nd attempt to warn you guys about buying this new extra. My 1st complaint in 50 orders. Flying 30 yrs. Bought one of these 3?yrs ago and it flew beautifully doing hard aerobatics. Decked it several weeks ago (brain fart), and so ordered another. $30 dearer. New kit is VERY poor standard. 2 full days to straiten, epoxy strengthen and re-glue it. Won't be buying another. The list is very long. This plane should never have got past ANY QC. HK is big enough to screw any supplier who boxes crap like this to them. Its nowhere near the 1st one's quality....No carbon in this one.(Al and plastic !) Grossly over shrunk covering enough to crack stringers. Missing bolts etc, bad dust in paint work, canopy is so 'crazed' its hard to see through. etc etc it just goes on and on. My 1st winge ok !! Why not return it ?? $30 to get it $30? to return and then the hassles.....I'd built one previously didn't open it all up until needed. I have used old canopy, wings etc so to late. Good luck if you buy one examine it all before doing anything. If yours is a good kit you will be happy.....This is real great.
My first Balsa plane but still one of the best among what I got.
It has been already three years with more than around 1000 flights.
Now, would like to buy another one but no stock available.

I just got my second Extra 260 and the motor mount was assembled backwards, with left and up thrust instead on right and down thrust. I took the motor mount apart and reassembled it to fix this problem. See description under the discussions. The plane will not fly straight and ture with an incorrectly assembled motor mount.
The plane is now complete and flying. With the rebuilt motor mount it flys straight and ture just like my first one did.Just received, box had water stains so I was careful to access while unboxing.
All appears OK. Did a preliminary assemble to make sure small parts were all there. This appears to be complete. Careful with the loose fit hinges as a couple of them slid inside never to be seen again. The finishes are good with the exception of the white skin has some hot iron scorching on a few of the wing ribs. Some pen marks are from factory also on the wings. This does take away from the close up appearance, once in the air nobody will ever notice. The CD that contains the directions leave a lot to be desired. Best to have some previous building experience or someone to help along the way, Otherwise a great value and I am looking forward to having it ready to put up in the air.Pour le prix rien a redire,sauf que c'est un avion lger, et fragile,montez le train sur vis nylon,avec crous 4mm.Sinon bonne qualit en vol, la masse avec accu 3s3000, est de 1610gr, moteur 3548.A la construction ,ontez l'avant du fuselage < le nez > et rsinez a l'poxy cela suffit a rigidifier l'ensemble.Centrage a 85mm.
this is a great deal but not for the first timer,may need a little know how to finish .but flies great look good what do you want for under 100 bucks?
