What a great kit as an alternative to the FT foamboard planes. The parts are all very nicely cut, made of what seems a sandwich of materials like Adams foamboard, but with a plastic material replacing the paper like the normal stuff. The result is far more tolerant to moisture, I've been flying mine for a month now during a Florida Summer, the type of conditions that make regular foamboard peel and fall apart. My biggest gripe about this kit was lack of information regarding powerplants to use, motor recommendations are vague, at best. I decided on a quadcopter spec 2208 2300KV with a 6" prop, a bit underpowered with FPV gear, but still fun when using a 1300mah battery.Nice little plane. Looks like Radjet.
I used stock motor of radjet and 1,3mAh 3s lipo
Not very fast. One crown for quality because one of the brass fittings for the flaps came without a hole so I cannot fix my rod to it. Not sure how that can pass QC inspection. Now I'm excited to get this in the air but dead in the water because of bad parts coming with this kit.
I've submitted a ticket with HK but be warned!Okay, so I was a little harsh on the first review.
Setup with a 2200kv and 6x4 prop on 20C 2200 3S, CoG at 30mm in front of wing tube.
Not exactly a rocket but definitely fun, tracks true and inverts nicely. It is a flying plank so power on most of the time. Those with previous foam board experience will probably turn the plank into a Kfm wing for lift and round off the leading edges more speed.
Definitely worth the space in any hangar.Good thing these are cheap, buy 2 so you know how to put the 2nd one together. Manual is all but useless.
I'm still looking for "the black dot" apparently under the canopy that denotes CoG.
I'll just head to the park and try a 1300mAh then a 2200mAh, will also take a plastic bag with me!!
