This was the best emitter that could even be used as receiver using the Ultimate LRS software. Compatible with Ardupilot telemetry, it provides an awesome range.
Considering that you don't even need the hkpilot telemetry set when you use these, I can say the value for the price is amazing. Please HK we need restock! Check the ultimate LRS website to see the improvments that you should make to this module to get the best range possible.

these have crap range out of the box but all you need is to turn the stock antenna into a half wave whip all you need is a wire and antenna tube start at 350mm and slowly cut it back checking rrsi dont cut shorter than 310mm use a quarter wave on rx i left the rx in my house and walked half way across town without lossing signal i didnt go to the max range ill never fly that far away

WARNING! I bought 3 of these orange lrs modules and in ALL of them the ground plane on the pigtail was broken. If you are getting 200-300m range probably yours is broken too. And here is the real fun part: You probably burned the TX at this point(practically run the module without antenna)

I strongly recommend running a continuity test on the pigtail before ever turning the module on. Also if you have an soderin iron put dab of soder on SMA's pins. That was botced one of my modules too. Seriously messed up QC

A friend of mine had the same setup and didn't manage to get it to work correctly having a range even worse than mine. We decided to go back to FrSky which works way beyond what you can expect of a 2.4G system.

Flashed with the newest version of openLRSng it provides lots of cool features, such as Spectrum Analyzer or telemetry (orange RX module can transmit data back to TX module which beeps on lost packets). Overall, OrangeRx Open LRS is one of the best TX modules you can buy for your JR or 9x transmitter.

There is no information regarding whether the unit requires to be flashed with the firmware in order for the unit to work. So, I tried to bind it to a OrangeRx open lrs 9 channel receiver. It never made the five beeps and never bound. After making 20 attempts to get the firmware updated (it would never connect), using the Orange RX firmware update kit, I noticed the unit LED's were dead and I am assuming the unit is now dead. Not worth spending $20 to ship it back to China only to have to wait for several months to get another one back, assuming HK will actually warranty it.
Waste of money.

Great little thing here. I have a FrSky DF combo which I'm very satisfied with, but aiming for longer range brought me to this and adding also the fun setting it up, choosing and flashing firmwares, the possibility to flash it as a receiver and have 1W telemetry in both ways, makes this module unbeatable.

Great little thing here. I have a FrSky DF combo which I'm very satisfied with, but aiming for longer range brought me to this and adding also the fun setting it up, choosing and flashing firmwares, the possibility to flash it as a receiver and have 1W telemetry in both ways, makes this module unbeatable.
