On receiving the motor, I needed to reverse the shaft - whilst trying to loosen the 2 grub screws on the shaft, one of the screws stripped out. Impossible to remove as it was flush with the shaft.
Sent back to hobbyking, who delivered a new one. (very good service by the way) Opened up new motor to reverse shaft and exactly the same thing happened.
Grub screws are made of extremely soft metal. Not impressed with the quality - although in fairness, it isn't an expensive motor. Sent the second one back and gave up on the motor. I think the saying - 'You get what you pay for' holds true when it comes to electric motors.Well made and very light I like the overall product.Great motor, better than Axi 2820/08 for my Multiplex Tucan.good Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 3548- 1050kv Brushless Outrunner MotorPurchased two of this motor, First impression seems to be nice quality for the money, nice packaging and well protected. Accessory kit is also very decent quality
I did notice there to be a few looser windings on one of the stator arms that they kind of just mushed them over to make them lay down for clearance, but not to serious.
Upon installing the first of my two new motors I removed the bell to inspect and oil the bearings and found the two front bearings to be less then smooth, Back bearing is fine.
I oiled them up and reassembled it, run it up and sure enough those bearings are done within 5 minutes of running.
There is a bearing kit available SKU: 192000081 But I think I will go to Boca and search out a quality bearing.
I do like the availability of shafts and accessory kits for this motor and the power does seem very good. All in all I would rate this a good motor with poor quality bearings. Expect to replace them.
3 crowns for value for poor bearings.guter Motor luft gut mit 4S. Prop. 12x6 Power genug fr meine DO 27 3,8 KgVery powerfull power.Well made motor and accessories. Nice to have flexible silicon coated wires on a motor for a change. Vibration free and easy to install.
Put it in my 1250mm Tigermoth and it max's out at 30 amps on 3S with an 11 x 4 Master Airscrew prop and 39 amps with 11 x 5.
I am going to go with the 11 x 4.warto zaplacic kilka dolarw wiecej za ta seie silnikw , rznice widac i slychaci have been buying sk3 motors for a while now. they have been very reliable and very smooth running. this one not so. the magnets started to move and on closer inspection they were not glued in. i have glued them in with epoxy and all is good now. maybe a quality control issue?
