I have over 20 of these in various 75" ~ 88" Extreme Flight planes. I just tested the torque on this with a dedicated 8.4v power source from a castle bec pro.
Max torque was 411 oz with a 1 inch arm.
I also tested a Hitec 7955 and it was about 418 oz with a 1 in arm.
Since these wre mainly used by me with a bec at 8.4v - I was curious on it's torque and this test proved why these servos did not fail on the planes.I have sold about 30 of these servos though my trackside shop. So far we have had 3 fail, 2 due to 'people' fitting too long a screw to hold the horn on, messing up the controls inside, rather than the screw provided. The 3rd somehow stripped a gear, but as it was the same person who had fitted a long screw, we just changed the gears over from one damaged one to the other!
We have tried many budget servos, and these I am happy to sell and use myself in my racing 1/8 Truggy.
In My opinion you have to pay twice as much, to get a better servo. This is a very strong servo, with almost no slop. Very good quality for its price! I'm using it on the rudder of my Sukhoi 31 (190 cm span, 30 cc. gasoline)Don't buy this servo. It was the worst purchase I've ever made from Hobbyking. I plug it in and it's not working. That seemed weird to be completely dead. Next thing I smell electrical burning and case is warm. I unplug immediately but too late. I think it was seized and that caused it to burn. What a waste of money. Unfortunately I didn't try it for a few months after purchase. Though even if I had I know from experience it wouldn't have been worth the aggravation or expense to try and get Hobbyking to warranty their product. Do not make the same mistake I did by purchasing this low quality servo. HobbyKing, you should allow zero crowns for shipping dead on arrival products.veary veary impressed upon first review.bought these at the same time i bought several other name brand servos with my income tax such as savox and hitec.these servos sound and act identical with no more play in the drive line than the others.also metal gears are complete and of the finest quality i have seen in a low price budget servo. futaba 25 tooth spline.i water proofed mine rite away and installed them on my summit with a 10a bec unit.wow these things kick butt for this application.and almost no heat? all my other servos ran hot! during inital bench test except these.this includes max voltage stall outs and 5 minute speed test at full swing. I dont know if i got lucky and got a magic pair or they are all this good.both center dead on and show excelant smooth resolution with and without substantial loads. i would suggest for higher torque loads using at least 8 volts and a good bec or direct to lipo these things draw the current dont run them off your receiver. im vearry happy thanks hobbyking and turnigy.ps i think these will hold up for awhile in my application 10 runs so far so goodvery supprised with how good this servo is
, have been running one of these in my hpi savage
and my hong nor truggy for nearly 5 months with no issues at all completely outperforms
my savox/fuTABA SERVOS AT 1/3 THE PRICEUsed this as a replacement throttle servo for the RedCat 1:5 XSC.
Wanted a high voltage servo, this did great. Speed wasn't a big deal to me as it's just a throttle servo, so it's plenty. Fantastic deal.Great "bang" for your buck. It has similar specs to a name brand servo I have running a 1/8 E-Buggy. I can say it is very close to it and its only 1/4 the price. I have a pair of on these in a Revo. Even with a set of Big Joe tires it steers lightning fast. Buy these, keep in mind they are $30 servos and you won't be disappointed.I have this servo in my Tekno SCT410 truck and its awesome.
If you have a 1/10th or 1/8th scale RC and want a strong and affordable servo, try this one.Below are the products you purchased in the last 45 days.
