got this motor working in a self made 26.5mm edf. what a pocket rocket. puts out 50g of thrust at 3.9 amps.. however the max amp draw for this on 2s would be no higher than 5amps.. it gets warm easily but running at 5amps or less on 2s is fine. currently have this in a home-made eurofighter (60grams) which flies beautifully. does about 80kph max speed..

so yeah

All in all:
I did not run the 1222 on 1s, so cannot say anything about it.
It is a nice motor for a very good price, but compared to the Turnigy 1220 (about same price) it looses in all matters when run on 2s:
It is weaker, it needs more battery power, and it also runs extremely hot.

If you have to chose, then buy the Turnigy 1220.

I am quite dissappointed by this motor. Waited for a long time till it was in stock. Bought it to use it instead of the Turnigy 1220 in my 2s mCP x. 1220 was awsome in 2s, but it ran extemely hot and I flew only 2 min with 1220 on 2s with small 2s batteries (Nanotec 2s 180 mAh and Lipolice 2s 200 mAh). 1220 is a blast in mCP x with 2s, if there would not be the temperature problem.

Thought, the 1222 would be better, because it should work on 7 V - and has little more kv than 1220.

First: The motor is nicely made. Hex-screws on the bottom plate to easily open it. Plugs are fine, but too big IMO for a micro model. Changed plugs to smaller ones.

The 1222 has exactly the same size as the 1220, only the flange at the bottom makes the size difference. I will upload pictures for comparative purposes, take a look!

Test on 2s: The 1222 also runs extremely hot, after a short time it is not possible to touch it anymore without injury. Mounted it into my 2s mCPx instead of the Turnigy 1220. 8t pinion. It was dissappointing. The 1222 is significantly weaker than the 1220. I cannot believe it has more kv. I measured about 7500 rpm with the 1222, and the (lower kv) 1220 makes 9000 rpm with the same setup!. Furthermore, the 1222 seems to be weaker, there is bogging, what is nearly totally missing with the 1220. And, worst: I cannot fly 2 min with Nanotec 180 mAh with the 1222, it seems to need more energy than the 1220 (with the 1220 2 min is no problem, I do only stop because of heat).
