AeroSIM RC is a full function RC flight simulator system capable of providing you with the training needed to learn how to fly RC aircraft. It's also great for experienced pilots who want to practice their routine and to learn new maneuvers.
AeroSIM RC offers simulation of just about every type of RC model aircraft including airplanes, helicopters and even multi-rotor aircraft (quadcopter, hexcopter etc.). It offers advanced features such as FPV flight scenarios, training programs, model tuning and much more!
The main feature that sets this simulator apart from the others is the wide variety of multi-rotor simulation offered. This is quite unique when compared to other simulators on the market today and is a great platform for learning to fly quadcopters, hexcopters and other multi-rotor configurations.
This system includes the software and USB cable required for connecting your transmitter to the computer. The transmitter connection utilizes a 3.5mm mono jack plug (works with Turnigy/JR/Spektrum/Hitec transmitter). I bought this specifically to practice with multirotors. Works fine with Turnigy 9x transmitter and comes with the correct cable for it. I had a bugger of a time trying to get it to calibrate/recognise the transmitter, until I pulled out the RF module *You must do this with the T9X* which is a little annoying because the T9X RF module antenna is hard-wired, so just kinda dangles out the back when using the simulator.
There are a number of different multicopters featured, but unfortunately a lack of 'X' configuration options. The only native models in this config is the Gaui 330 (which only has gyro stability) or the Octo quad X. I could not find any options to convert the other models from ' ' to 'x'.
General graphics and scenery are pretty 1990's, but the overall experience is quite rewarding and must indeed earn it's price or purchase back in broken parts (it even keeps track of how many props you break!).
The FPV camera options are cool. With the option of turning gimbal stabilization on or off. OSD is also simulated.
Overall, I recommend getting this, it will save you money in the long run.This is the only R/C flight simulator to the moment which is directly supported by the OpenPilot project hardware-in-the-loop simulation.

In short: you can test hardware stabilization and navigation features using simulated model. Instead of GPS, gyro, accelerometers etc, the board gets all data from the simulator, performs stabilization and control and returns control data to the sim instead of real servo. So you can try to tune navigation without real model.
I bought this sim elsewhere a few months ago and it works great with my Futaba 7C. I've yet to try it with the 9X.
You should note though, that the graphics are not on par with Phoenix & RealFlight.
