The de Havilland DH.100 Vampire was a British jet fighter commissioned by the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Following the Gloster Meteor, it was the second jet fighter to enter service with the RAF. Although it arrived too late to see combat during the war, the Vampire served with front line RAF squadrons until 1953 and continued in use as a trainer until 1966. The Vampire also served with many air forces worldwide, setting aviation firsts and records. Almost 3,300 Vampires were built, a quarter of them under license in other countries. The Vampire design was also developed into the de Havilland Venom fighter-bomber as well as naval Sea Vampire variants.
Our DH Vampire comes almost ready to fly and is designed around a 90mm EDF unit powered by a 6~10S Lipoly battery. It is perfect for a pilot looking for something different. The model comes with fixed gear but is retract ready. The airframe of the Vampire is molded fiberglass composite for the fuselage/tailbooms with the wings and horizontal tail being of built up balsa and plywood. All wooden surfaces come pre-covered in plastic film.
Since this is a almost ready to fly model, all you need to do is complete the final assembly, install your components, and fly. All the difficult building and painting has been done for you. A few evenings of work is all that is needed to get the Vampire ready for its first sortie.

This is a verry good plane.
Its easy to fly and have not bad habits.
Mine flies whit Dr Mad Thrust 90mm 2500W 6S 12 blade Alloy EDF and YEP 120 HV. Whit the Nanotech 45c / 90c 4500mAh its perfect.
I launch this plane whit bungee and i have onli aileron and elevator mounted.
Whit this configuration this plane are light and after 2 years and a lot of flights is it still in good condition.

From Hongkong to Texas in 10 days for $198 without damage! Well finished, tight covering, but missing blind nut in boom mounting hole and rudders were not slotted for CA hinges. Canopy latch must be reversed. Only 2 slots and CA hinges per aileron, not 3 as shown in manual. Online manual is better than what's in the box. More than a few evenings to finish though, this is NOT a 1st time ARF.
Built using fixed gear and no flaps or speed brakes (saves 6 servos). 2xHXT500s for rudders, HXT900 for elevator, 3xHS-85BBs for steering and ailerons. Freewing 6 blade 90mm edf, 3553-1750kv motor, yep-100 ESC. Measured 53a, 1024w during static full throttle on bench (no canopy, 6s2650c90 nano-tech).
I'm not sure if I'll ever get this thing in the air. I have added half a pound of lead to the nose, and I still can't get the recommended CG. My bowling ball is too big. Has ANYONE completed this build? Has anyone gotten it in the air? HK is not going to respond to this question, and that is a long-proven GIVEN. I am through trying to get anything out of HK support.
