The Durafly EFX Racer has been designed from the ground up to offer the speed (100mph+) and strength normally reserved only for high end full composite models, but with the handling and satisfaction only a Durafly model can offer.
This 1100mm (43") span model boasts a huge list of high-performance features that set the EFX apart from the competition. The 2300kv 28mm brushless outrunner (designed especially for the EFX) uses ultra high-speed Japanese bearings for only the best performance. The pre-installed Durafly 50amp ESC has been optimized to deliver smoothly the power you need when you want it and all control surfaces use high speed, high torque digital 9g servo's (metal geared on the ailerons) together with ball link connectors to deliver true precision and control through-out the speed range.
The EFX Racer's high performance doesn't end with the electronics. The airframe has been engineered to be both rigid and lightweight, utilizing both glass and carbon fiber reinforcements throughout the model in combination with Super Compressed EPO foam and a highly polished surface finish to deliver the ultimate in performance in the air and the sleekest of looks on the ground. Following the supplied comprehensive manual, the EFX clips and screws together in minutes. Connect the control surfaces to the servos and install your own choice of receiver & lipoly pack and you are ready to fly!
Versatility is another of the design features of the EFX Racer. Right out of the box you're provided with two different power options, 6x5 for 3cell and 5x5 for 4cell. For good all round sports performance a 2200mah 3S lipo on the 6x5 will give good speed and is recommended for pilots less experienced with fast models. However, for true high speeds and power when you open the throttle, a 1800mah 4S on the 5x5 is the winners choice and will get you going over 100mph. For the ultimate speed/performance on 4cell, a 5.5x4.5 is recommended for 100mph+.
Complimenting the amazing speeds of the EFX is it stunning agility in the air. A simple under arm hand launch at 3/4 throttle from standing gets the EFX in the air and you'll have unlimited vertical as soon as you open up to full (4S). A full house of controls (Aileron, Elevator, Rudder) gives the EFX remarkable aerobatics performance. Loops can be as BIG as you want them, rolls are very precise either fast or slow and the EFX will knife edge all day long! Thanks to the exceptionally strong airframe, high powered, high G maneuvers will not present a problem either. The EFX Racer never fail you, but always leave you wanting more! My EFX is now 5 month: Mit 3S schnell genug und mit nem 6,5x5,5 Prop Flugzeiten um die 10 minuten ( 3S 2200 Lipo) was will man mehr. man kann damit auch Heizen aber warum mit 3s HÄlt der bestimmt länger wie mit 4S !!! SUPERTEIL LEIDER zur ZEIT nicht mehr zu haben !!!!Great little toy this one. Lots of fun and excellent value for $. It's definately not a beginner plane. The big wing span makes it easy to see from afar.. much easier than my delta wing. Have not tried 4s yet but don't think I will this thing is crazy enough on 3s.... very agile. Downsides: cannot get spare parts in AUS (or anywhere really - only the kit), and not much room in fuselagae for different size batteries. Easy under arm throw for launch. No torque roll on 3s... smooth. 4min run time on 2200 55c 3s.For my opinion is one the most funny planes i ever flown.
It rolls on rails and has a really fast unlimited vertical, looks absolutely fantastic and landings are easy as much as with a glider, it really floats also at low speed.
There are some defects too, the canopy is easy to loose, i recommend to get some spares or fit there some bigger magnet.
Its not a defect but this plane its not that fast as it looks also on 4S when stock, I wouldnt be surprised if Durafly would soon update the motor to a 3000kv, that is the motor that this amazing plane deserve to be fast as it should.
I use 2200mah 50C batteries which require to remove some material inside the canopy but it worth the job, added just 15 grams in front with it and gained almost 3 min from the 1800mah (7 mins on 4S 2200). Before to replace motor and esc i will try some other props but i think that wont change that much.
I anyway love this beautiful plane, is always in my car with a couple of batteries fully balanced ;)Fantastic, excellent, amazing, great, fun, and exciting all in one package. The EFX has been my favorite as soon as I got it, for the price you get a lot of air plane. Plenty fast on 3s and a real screamer on 4s, with ample power to do just about any aerobatic trick you can think of. The foam is VERY tough way tougher than much more expensive planes, and it shows while performing high G maneuvers. Not only can the EFX be a performance plane but it has slow speed tendencies that rival that of a glider, you can cut power and easily glide a football field no problem and I'm sure it will go further if I had the space. I really can't think of anything negative to say about it, it has been a blast since day one. It has plenty of power to lug a camera around here, check it out with my turnigy action cam mounted on top.

Have only flown it with the three cell setup and the performance on a radar gun is 84 MPH. It flies so steady and smooth it is my new favorite plane. The glide slope to land it very long, slow speed passes are very smooth also.I really like this plane. Quick to build. It zipps around great on 3 or 4 cell 2200mah. I have mine a little nose heavy so it climbs a bit at full throttle. Lots of fun, flies well at slower speeds also. No complaints here.If anyone has not got one of these please buy it. It's really fun to fly and landing is a peace of cake just rember that when you hand launch throw its up hard a slightly right wing down( right handed launch) I'm making a launch trolley for mine.Nach vielen Flgen- und man kann nicht genug davon bekommen. Alles funktioniert noch einwandfrei. Habe auf Quer- und Hhe 70pcnt Dualrate und 30pcnt Expo gegeben. Die Landungen sind problemlos, das Modell kann relativ langsam geflogen werden, ohne dass die Strmung abreit. Die Gleiteigenschaften sind gut.MUY CONTENTO CON ESTE MODELO. LO RECOMIENDONice plane, can be real fast full throttle but still remain very docile and rather easy to fly at lower speed.
Overall quality is remarkable for a little cheap plane like that.
The only complain i could make is it's not easy to get a correct CG and as the fuselage is very tight there is not a lot of space to put weight.
A little tip for those that could have difficulties to hand lauch this bird : do NOT believe the manual's instructions, they are pure crap and will certainly lead to dart straight into the ground most of the time
75pcnt throttle is far to much and will give a strong left roll tendencies, made even worse if you put full throttle just after launch.
Instead give it just about 40-50pcnt throttle(on 4S 50pcnt throttle is already a lot), it's more than sufficient, and wait a little for the plane to build some speed before giving full throttle. Like that you'll get almost 100pcnt successful launches.
