Forged for a King in a distant realm, the legendary Excalibur is here.
The most anticipated Durafly release this year, The Excalibur must be flown to be truly appreciated. Innovative design features, such as the cantilever forward swept wing, V-tail tail surfaces, incredibly strong construction and stunning lines.
Just like the legendary sword, Excaliburs strength is paramount. The engineers at Durafly were given their hardest challenge yet, to design a wing that is ultra thin but incredibly strong in EPO foam!
The wing has carefully positioned carbon fiber reinforcement and pre-tensioned glass fiber strips. The fuselage is feature packed with a square carbon fiber tube and glass fiber strips. The V-tail along with control surfaces are reinforced. All these features combine to make the Excalibur a weapon.
Servos are all pre-installed with a whopping 3542 800kv Aerostar brushless outrunner motor up front. 60amp Aerostar brushless speed controller. Two piece removable wing makes assembly fast with wire-free PCB connection between the wing and fuse.
Rule the sky with the Excalibur.

Super produit il est vraiment neutre et vol comme sur des rails .looks like me ESC has sxxt itself was working ok but now wont start it tries but only stutters I have reprogramed it but to no evail I had a 55amp plush handy and fitted that and all good again I 3ill send a vid and make a claim which I will assum will be accepted other that that this ia a great plane make sure you activate the brake and it will thermal great or just surf the wind on a windy day which we have had plenty in the eastern states of Australia lately cant wait to take it to the sloopI'd really like to have given more stars - but it doesn't quite earn 5 stars at this point. If there was a rating for flight performance it would get 5 stars and an exclamation point.
It barely gets 5 crowns for value because it's pretty spendy. However the stock electronics are perfectly adequate and don't need to be replaced - saving some money over many foam airplanes that need to be stripped of their electronics or crashed when they fail. Also the decals are expertly applied, better than I would probably do.
Only 4 crowns for quality. I hope HK works out the production kinks on subsequent production runs - but the first run has issues with alligator skin on the top of the wings above the servo mount and the spars. Probably solvent or heat from the glue used to put them in the plane. I bought two PNP planes and one has pretty bad alligator skin, the other only moderate. When I received my Excalibur's I was told I'd have a set of replacement wings in a week to 10 days. This did not happen. Now I'm being asked to start over and fill out an RMA. Well, I sat on my review anticipating the wings - but no longer.
I highly recommend this plane but would probably buy the kit so you can install your own spars and servos in the wings and avoid messing up the top surface. It's an absolute blast to fly. This is a quality item. It goes together easily and at half throttle it was more than up for the launch. First flight was spot on, this thing is on rails and there is no rush to get your hand back on the tx, it just tracks straight and true every time. I used the 1800, 4S pack and was up for 20 minutes just zooming almost out of sight then drilling it vertical with the prop folded for high speed runs. It also thermals tight no problem. Great fun, lands quite fast but tracks straight on grass no problem.I have had mine a few days and had it to the field twice I flys great just powewr it to half throttle and it flys out of your hand
I am using the std set up on 4s but I think i will upgrade to the higher pitch prop as It lacks just a little speed particually in the wind
also It not at all good on the glide and slows down really fast but in saying that mine came with the break off so I will reset the ESC and brake on and see how it goes
Like the EFX hobby king have taken the time to make this a great model the finish etc is first classI have been waiting a while for this. I really wanted a Dynamic S, but wasn't a good enough pilot before they stopped selling them. So now with some experience under my belt I jumped on this one. I have built/assembled, but not flown yet. The finish on the foam is excellent. It is a lot like the finish of the EFX racer. Hard, smooth, stiff and has a good amount of reinforcement. I expect it to fly very very well, but I'll update with my results. I did have a couple of issues. Firstly the slope soaring nose was not included in the box. BUT, I got straight on to the RMA process and live chat and there is a replacement on the way. The other issue I has was that two of the plastic retaining clips for the push rod split in half while I was pushing them on the push rods. The plastic is very hard and in flexible and unless there is some technique I'm missing, they could be a lot better. All in all this promises to be a really nice flying plane. Cheers MichaelBought one as soon as they came out. What a fantastic warmliner was easy to put together looks great in the sky and goes like a rocket can't fault it and love everything about it kudos to durafly and hobbyking. What a rocket ship. I'm flying mine on a 2250mah 65-130c and it doesn't seem to be bothered by the additional 5g. I could easily fly 8 minutes on one charge. Very agile and can handle the forces on the wings. Only problem I had out of the box was there were no elevator servo arms or screws in the box. Kind of a bummer but luckily I had other parts in my toolbox. I'm certain it would sail better with a lighter battery (1800mah). Durafly makes really nice planes and I own 3 and will buy more.Maidened my yesterday (sept 17), just two days after it was for sale, thanks to DHL who delivered it to my door in Norway within 48 hours, and for just 47$. Thats a selling point on its own, but luckily the model it self is the biggest. It assembles in less than an hour and everything fits nice and snug. I measured the amp pull to 43A, 603 watts static. I wasnt to happy with it having standard, cheap 9 gram nylon servos in the tail, but the aileron servos are metal. With all surfaces neutral, I didnt have to use the trims at all And launching it at 2/3 throttle is totally undramatic. I wasnt to impressed with the climb out, and it does loose its speed quite fast in glide mode, but I dont really care because it flies AWSOME under power. It has very good respons, and no bad tendencies, and it can handle really fast and tight tursn with no signs of wing flex. So this in my opinion is truly a five star model.Received mine yesterday, well packed and no damage. Took me about an hour to put the glider together ( I'm a slow builder) The overall quality appears to be very good, all the parts fit as they should but to mount the wings on to the fuselage you need to push quite hard to get them in the slot all the way. Does anyone have experience which duall rate and expo is best ? I think I will keep the settings low because of the agility of the glider.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase, will maiden tomorrow.
