The HobbyKing Scimitar is an all composite construction 230mm tree hugging FPV racing drone. The Scimitar has a multi-frame vibration isolation system that uses vibration thimbles to isolate the motor and prop vibration from the FC and camera. The vibration system lets you run tighter P.I.D’s and have a gello free video FPV session. The lower frame also has a built in PDB and ESC mounting supports for a clean equipment install.
The arms support motor mounting from 16x19mm and 12mm spacing. The max prop size is 5inch and perfect for the 1704~2206 class motors. The durable composite construction comes with many provisions for mounting and straps, making install a snap. The frame has 8 vibration thimbles for isolation as well as a new forward looking FPV camera mount between the frames. The Scimitar has some sleek looks with hot red anodized aluminum standoffs and a cool matte finish, making this a great little quad to zip around your local flying site.

the frame is heavy for the multistar babybeast combo, maybe better with the 2216-800Kv comboThe frame went together quickly without ant problems. I'm running afro slim 12a ESC's with baby beast motors on Naze32 FC. The vibration isolation works great. The only thing I changed so far was to cut the legs on the bottom in half. I figure they'll hold up better if there is less leverage on them in a crash.
The only problem I have is on bumpy landings. Anything less than a perfect touchdown causes the upper frame to lean because of the rubber dampeners, and the 5" blades are very close and will hit the aluminum struts. Not too big of a deal as I want to make longer arms to try out 6" props anyhow, as I need about 60pcnt throttle to hover without FPV gear. So far I've only tested it indoors because there is 6' of snow outside, and I'm a terrible pilot.
To all the people complaining about only having 4 solder pads: You can put more than 1 wire on a pad. My front esc's share a set of pads, and my rear ESC's share a set of pads leaving free space for my UBEC and LEDs on one, and battery leads off another. Hope that helps.Frame is around 185 grams, which to me is a bit heavy, also the entire top half of the frame is supported by rubber standoffs which makes it bad in a crash, just be ready to search for all 8 of the rubber mounts because there are no extras. Also the power distribution board has no spot to solder in a battery lead. Fairly sturdy for the crash that I was in though.gutes Frame, leider kein Carbon.
