Size matters no matter what they say.....and that also applies to trainers! The Hornet fits very nicely into the "club" trainer catagory and ticks all the right boxes in terms of practicality & durability.
Construction is traditional semi sheeted light-ply/balsa which offers a combination of low weight and strength. The covering is printed to give a bright scheme which is great for orientation while the high gloss finish makes for easy cleaning and excellent durability. The Hornet is supplied with a very comprehensive hardware kit that includes a fuel tank & engine mount for those wishing to go for glow power and also a ply motor mount for those wishing to go electric, the model also features a quick release front battery hatch for EP. The supplied hardware kit also includes an alloy spinner, heavy duty & anodised clevis and pushrods, etc. The Hornet is very practical & features plug in wings for easy transportation and field assembly as well as a bolt on tail assembly, the model also features robust main piano wire tricycle under-carriage (for those less than perfect arrivals) rubber tires and a steerable nose wheel.
Any experienced pilot will tell you that the bigger they are, the better they fly, this is why this is the perfect club trainer size, the Hornet is managable both in terms of transport and at the airfield, can handle some wind, flies slowly and predictably enough to inspire confidence, is cheap to assemble and being a quick build balsa ARF, the Hornet gives the new pilot a feeling of satisfaction & confidence that can only come from "building" and setting up a new model of this size and type. Good trainer. I instlled my own linkages as the ones provided were not to my liking. I also missed my electric motor box, so had to make my own. Flies OK, CG is at 75mm on mine.

Allerdings hatte ich ihn hier im Angebot fr 55 gekauft.
Die Querruder mussten neu anscharniert werden, waren zu eng an die Flche geklebt.
Der Rest war top!
Als Motor kam ein Evolution GX10 drauf, geht super.This is a good trainer, I fitted mine with an OS 35 FP. A few faults in kit , 1st had to drill out nose wheel steering block as u/c wire did not fit .2nd aileron horn holes in wrong place on aileron. 3rd but most serious wing joiner aluminium tube badly out of round and did not fit into wig boxes, I had to replace with 16 diameter tube that just slid in perfectly.
