The Smash Shark is a beautifully finished fiberglass offshore racing boat that is built for speed. It not only looks the part, it has the performance to back it up!
The fiberglass work is top notch, making for a smooth finish without flaws. The paint and decals have been expertly applied along with a final glossy clear coat to seal the surface. The color scheme is bright, sharp and highly detailed.
Performance is really what the Smash Shark is all about. The pre-installed 3660 sized 2070KV brushless motor provides huge amounts of power to the prop. A full set of top quality hardware comes as standard including an alloy strut mount, propeller adapter, rudder and turn fins. The motor comes pre-fitted with water cooling installed.
A battery mounting plate is pre-installed as well as a servo mount. The servo simply zip ties in place making for a very easy yet secure installation. The battery tray is large and will accommodate a wide range of pack sizes.

this is my first boat and my only one ill ever have, its stupid sable after adding trim tabs other wise boat was skipoing on 4s with stock setup wich was 650kmh. after all mods and upgrades im hitting 86 kmh with 5s lipo and custom props from a good guy in russia. boat glides smoothly without a single skip at full speed when trim tabs are installed correctly.
cant go wrong and im thinking about getting another one but in a different colourThis is a cool boat. I wrote a review before praising it and I will do again in the light of even more experience racing it. Ist: get a bigger rudder. 2nd run 2x3000-4000 4S is parallel. Reason: This boat has lots of lift and with a 4S its difficult to get a set up that keeps the bow down - either that or get a set up that allows you to run a 2S in group N offshore racing. Mine now has around 150 G of lead in the bow as well, with the prop running about 1 degree angled down. Mine also has a big cut under the hull from someone else s rudder: you make and break em I guess.I bought mine 2 months ago and I am pleased with it. Quality is top notch finish-wise though the motor rails could have been better epoxied. Rudder is a bit small but the motor is good as is the choice of prop. It was instantly on the money at my club.
I burn out a 160A ESC because of the rudder not being long enough to pick up water reliably so I have now changed to a dual water pickup - 1 from the rudder feeds the motor and a new tube on a carbon strut picks up the out-wash off the prop: it works great, even when coming out of a poor turn. Hobby King how about a prop water pick up product?A great package and really only needs trim tabs on the Hull to set it right.
I have the HK Aquastar 160A ESC along with a decent waterproof servo some decent 4S 40 C LiPos and you are set. Recommended.Hab jetzt keine Profi-Ansprche, aber das Ding is in Sachen Qualitt, Optik, Haptik, der Hammer..Very nice boat ,finish is excellent inside and out. There is a lot of room inside this boat Tighten all nuts and bolts. The only thing I have changed is the turn fins ( PRODUCT ID: HK-517B11) and added Stainless Steel Trim Tabs (PRODUCT ID: HK-516B12) also changed the rudder because the stock one is too short, replaced it with the genesis rudder only(PRODUCT ID: HK-502B20). With the parts I replaced the boat runs true, no porpoising and no skipping-out in turns.
I run this boat stock with a 4s 5000MaH battery, Turnigy 180amp marine esc and a H-King High Torque Waterproof Analog Servo(PRODUCT ID: 9225000013) I like this boat, just put the battery in and away you go.Imagine a great and amazing boat... this one is it!!! Good quality for money!!! Nice, beauty and fast...Ich habe gleiche erfahrungen wie MRK40 gemacht. Super Preis/Leistung.
Auch bei mir war der Motorhalter nach einigen Betriebsstunden aus dem Rumpf gebrochen und die Akkuhalterung lose. Ich fahre das Boot mit 6s und dem 38ger prop. This is a great boat for the price. The finish of the hull is superb, and it looks great out on the water. The only thing I did before taking her out was to drill out the rudder pick-up.
With my setup below I was able to achieve about 40 mph on a 8-10 minute run time. The ESC and Motor were between 90-100 degees (F), and the batteries about 100 degrees (F).
I threw in a pair of 2S 4200mah saddle packs in series (4 cells), and picked up about 7-10 mph, but the motor got a little hot... would definitely need a separate water pick-up for cooling if you go 4s or above.
The hull would also benefit from some trim tabs.
You can see my initial run video on the Video tab. I changed the prop angle after this run, and added a few grams of weight to the front, and the ride quality was excellent.
Motor: NEU 8XL
ESC: Castle Barracuda 80
Servo: Hi-Tec Metal Gear
RX/TX: Hobby King
Battery: Turnigy nano-Tech 3S 5000mah
