The Spirit is a brilliant and fast mini glider with an advanced clip together construction that makes for fast assembly and easy parts replacement, it also comes with a pusher pod conversion kit (pusher motor not included) which is ideal for turning the Spirit into a mini FPV platform.
Made from tough EPO foam, the Spirit is both quick and easy to assemble, the motor and folding prop have been pre-installed and the ESC & servo's are also pre-fitted, the wings & all moving tail simply clip together and the 2 pc wing screws on, in fact it takes longer to apply the decals than build the model! For those perhaps wanting to FPV with the Spirit, the model comes with a pusher motor pod (no motor included) replacement blanking nose cone and different prop/spinner, changing configuration is fast and simple once you have assembled your own motor into the pod, potentially offering you a different way of enjoying your Spirit.
As it comes, the Spirit is a blast to fly, fast and agile with a superb off power glide, it has no bad tendencies making this great little glider easy to fly and massive amounts of fun. Small enough to be flown in the park yet fast enough to raise the pulse, the Spirit is the perfect grab n fly model, good looking, easily transported, easy to assemble, robust and and a hoot to fly, the Spirit is an awful lot of model for the money!

I bought this litte glider in a sale and at first look out of the box I was really happy. The foam looked nicely smooth and durable and the sticker went on well. Unfortunately when I screwed the main wing on, nothing was really true with this glider. There was a huge angle between the vertical stabilizer and the main wing, so I cut down a bit from one side of the fuselage to make them even. Next thing I noticed is that the fuselage has no right angle to the main wing on mine, which bothered me before maiden.
But maiden flight went exeptionally well. It tracks like on rails, rolls like crazy and goes up vertical without a limit. It's quite fast, but can also been flown pretty slow with no tip stalls so far. Only the motor gets quite hot, so I need to pause after one flight to let it cool down a bit before the fun begins again!
Definitely recommended, if you don't care optimizing a bit with a cutter :-)The Spirit Mini is an awesome glider. Out of the box is pretty much does it all - it flies like it is on rails yet is highly agile if you want to do aero's. The standard motor has heaps or grunt to move the Spirit along at a rate of knots. The glider is not quite a hotliner but it certainly does not want for speed. I am using 3S 850mAh packs in mine for about 8 minutes of powered flight. On the slope with about 15kph of wind, the Sprit is a good sloper. I can't pick a fault with my Spirit Mini Glider. I recommend this one. Good job HK!!The best Merlin-Clone in this shop :)
All links are same as the original only made of another kind of Plastics.
For sure it's not a hotliner but it is flying faster than expected. Nice plane for a fair price.
flew mine for the first time today. There was hardly any winds. All went well, I used a 850 3S nanotech that goes in the front, and all the rest is underneaty (esc and my receiver). I didn't bother using any velcro; the receiver lies loose but cannot move around enough to matter. The 3S 850 nanotech fits snug in the front, it is very tight, and that is a good thing. CG is okay in that setup; I hardly trimmed any elevator. I did trim out the ailerons, it tended to roll somewhat.
One thing I still need to fix is the ESC brake setting. The motor does not brake, so the prop keeps spinning (windmilling) even with throttle off. So I landed with a spinning prop, but it did not get damaged. Happy with this plane, will be taking it with me on vacation. Taking it apart and putting it back in the box is do-able. ESC got hot (warm anyway) on the bench, just feeding the receiver and servo's while setting things up. See how it will hold up after a few flights, maybe put in a slightly better ESC. I will have to see.I purchased this with the Kenetic and like the Kenetic better due to the design of the battery compartment but everything else is similar, this does have a 2-piece wing but since its only 815mm theres no need to break it down for transport.Recieved the glider very fast, once I opened up the box, everything was super! for this price, you can't go wrong. I ordered 3 Lipo's 460mah 3S , and they fit perfect. Flying the glider is a piece of cake, track's like it's on rails. Very happy with it!I bought this mini glider for fun but unfortunately the BL did not work from the beginning..that a pity..I'm not satisfied about the product!
Hey HK please double check the material purchased fro Freewing!
Now I have to replace the BL motor...Its took a long time to put together because excess glue in manufacture stopped the wing from fitting together. However this plane flies even better than you think it will. Its much easier and more fun than you expect. This plane is also quite easy to repair and this is good because I have ripped the motor of 3 times. It lands fast and glides a lot longer than I expect. Also check the links are trimmed and tight. The plane ended up in three parts on the second flight because I did not notice the elevator link was not tight.Great model not so great PNF.
Two fus halfs not aligned 1 half 2.5mm higher than the other. So this tilts wing, had to shave one side pack the other. Then you find the fittings securing the wing are not aligned so the wing is not perpendicular to the fus. Then 1 aileron servo does not travel the same as the other(which one is it , prise out both and replace). Can we just have a kit, it takes so much more time and effort to correct an alleged pnf which overall is just not good value. motor, esc, all moving tailplane plane design good- build not so.Wow what a suprise. Lets start with the assembly it is all screw and clip together with no glue required. It has an XT60 connector but only runs on 500mah batteries with JST connector, so you will need an adapter. I marked it down one star on quality as I had to re-glue one servo in the wing. Out of the hand it flew like it was on rails, it did however climb under full power. A slight bit of trim and a mix for full throttle fixed this. Climbs well, loops and rolls are no problem. Power off it glides well in the strong wind. It comes in quick for landings but it straight and easy to judge. Would happily buy another if I kill this one. Expect 5 minutes flight time from the 500 batteries longer if gliding as well. Good plane that I would recommend.
