The Target Drone is a great FPV airplane that has been specifically designed for the job and not only is the kit cheap to buy, this great little model is also cheap to get in the air.
*The new Target Drone v1.5 now includes a removable clear camera dome for the front of the fuselage. This magnetic canopy allows for quick and easy access to your camera while providing protection from the elements and an unobstructed view!
The Target Drone features a fiberglass fuselage that is open at the front for camera mounting, there is also a built in anti-glare cover. The model is designed for a pusher motor as you would expect and it also features a mid mounted, large hatch for battery and equipment access. The large and open fuselage area not only has plenty of room for your FPV equipment and lipoly, it also provides plenty of battery and cooling from the open front fuselage. The under carriage is robust, featuring screw in alloy legs at the rear and a steerable nose wheel up front.
The Target Drone is a pretty quick build, servo extension leads are pre-installed into the balsa wing, which is mounted on a CF rod and epoxied into place. The supplied hardware is comprehensive and the overall parts count low, meaning you will be experiencing FPV in double quick time. The Target Drone, with its tailess, swept wing is one of the most unusual and interesting EP FPV models in its class yet and is sure to get people's attention wherever it flies!

Good fiberglass plane. But do not forget to glue front wheel mount, if you wish to start not from sling or hands. Have myself one and now i am preparing a sling for take-offs. Plastic camera dome is very thin and will break at first problematic landing. So, have in mind to make another one or have camera with landing protection. For $100 shipped, it's not all bad. After reading many forum threads and reviews, I thought it would make a nice FPV plane with a few mods.
Forget the landing gear. I'm mounting a belly pan and wing skids for grass landings. I'll use my JetaPult for launching.
As far as the power system, I'm installing an Electrifly .10 Rimfire motor with a CF folding prop on the back. Don't care if the outrunner motor is on the outside.
The plastic used for the camera pod is useless. Hazy and distorted view looking through it. Better to paint it grey and put the camera on top, or at least cut a hole for the camera to see through the hazy bubble nose. I'll also put some extra CF bracing on the wing joints, to help keep the wing from folding, under stress. I'm also thinking of adding two small v-tail like fins on the back, to add more stability.
Overall, it's built pretty good, with the exception of the camera bubble and landing gear.
If you don't mind making some mods, this CAN be a very good plane.Over use of resin makes it nearly impossible to mount the motor internally. Significant modifications are required if you intend to do this. I cut out the firewall and rebuilt it to mount the motor inside for the clean look. Nice finish but my nose was "tweeked" and slightly twisted. Shouldn't be a problem but for $70 ive seen worse...
