More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY Bolt series lithium polymer batteries are built with a LiCo nano-technology substrate complex and an all new CNT (carbon nano tube) additive greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance. In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery.
LiHV stands for “High Voltage Lithium Polymer”. These batteries have been around for years and can be safely charged to 4.35V, higher than the typical voltage of Lipos.
The advantages of LiHV batteries are the higher power and longer running times. LiHV batteries can be charged to 4.35V per cell, higher than normal LiPo batteries which sit at 4.20V. For example, a 4S LiHV pack charged at 4.35V would give you 17.4V. Whereas a Lipo battery on the same charge would only get 16.8V. LiHV batteries also have a lower internal resistance and are less prone to "puffing".
For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance.

Initial power was a bit more than regular Lipos and I liked the added punchiness to my quad. However, after about ten cycles the battery suddenly puffed and now I con't use it safely anymore. I never overdischarged nor overcharged the pack. What's really strange is they it was a solid pack until after the ninth cycle, then it puffed significantly so now it is super squishy.
I would not recommend Bolt to anyone else in this mAh size.All I can say is AWESOME battery. I put this in my park jet F-14 Tomcat and WOW!!! I normally get 8-10 min with a Zippy 2200 and this thing went close to 18 min with full power all the way. I am impressed to say the least. I will be buying more soon!!These are fabulous batteries. Loads of power, stay cool under heavy load and worth buying. Yes they are expensive but worth the outlay. Gave them 4 stars and if a bit cheaper would have given them 5 stars. Will be buying more but have to save up :-)After 20 flights with this battery it has puff up bad and lost half of its capacity. I am stopping here in fear of unknown problems with damage packs, unfortunate for me I bought the battery in advance of my build so I am past the 30 days mark. Use with accucel 6 HV capable, I always come down with resting V. 3.7 and only charge at 1/2 cell per suggestion of GG.
