The Turnigy E3 Compact LiPoly charger is a very simple to use charger for 2S and 3S battery packs. No need for additional power supplies or 12v batterys as this little unit has its own built in power supply that is quite happy on mains power from 100v to 240v (this particular unit comes with a US plug and lead).
The Turnigy E3 is very easy to use, simply plug it into the mains power and all the LEDs will light green and then flash to red to indicate the charger is ready. Connect the balance lead of your battery to the balance port of the charger, after 2 secs the charger detects the voltage of the battery and starts charging. When the charger starts charging the LEDs will glow constant red, if the battery is a 2 cell then the cell LED indicators 1 and 2 will glow constantly, if it is a 3 cell then the cell 3 LED indicator will also glow. When a cell is completely charged the corresponding LED will turn green, when all cells turn green the battery is fully charged, disconnect the battery before switching off the charger.

Turnigy E3 Compact 2S/3S Lipo Charger 100-240v (US Plug) so best for the priceExcellent value (Less than $13). Since I will only be using it to charge the Turnigy nano-tech 2500mAh 3S1P 5~10C Transmitter Lipo Pack (From HobbyKing too), it's plenty sufficient. Worked great right out of the box and the Lipo Pack is already in use in my DEVO 10 :)When I got it the first time I charged a battery the lights didn't show that it was charging. It started out as red for a few minutes (Like 3) then switched to green even though it wasn't fully charged. It still charges it when its green though, so I just time it.Quick charger that gets the job doneThis is a good charger, though it communicates by blinking lights, which can be confusing at times. Also, the battery charging cord can be hard to remove at times, but it gets easier as you use it more. Overall a good charger that can do its job for a frugal buyer.very good and fast charger for the priceIf you are looking for a cheap yet effective charger that is ready to run out of the box, this is a solid choice. I've used this unit exclusively on 3 pack of 2S 1600 Ma/h LiPo and got excellent result. After 4 cycles I decided to test all 6 cell of my packs (with a professional multimeter of course)and here are my findings : The lowest reading was 4.181V and the highest was 4.198V and the rest sits in between. Please not that this is not a 300$ unit and will only charge at a fixed 1.2A rate but the cell balancing works really well at a price that is more than tempting.Super fast, 3s 2200mah in an hour, the only gripe I have is there is no way to use a DC in. Other than that, I love it.Charges my 2200mh Turnigy 2200mAh 3S 20C Lipo Pack no problemSeems like a well built charger, i use it to charge 850mah 3s battetys for my FPV system on my hexacopter. Seems to charge pretty fast, ALTHOUGH... so far it will only charge them to 4.156v per cell, which is about 95pcnt full, pretty annoying...
