C'est un hobbywing seaking rebadge.I purchased this to replace the stock Proboat speedo that came with the BlackJack 29 version2. Raced it last weekend and it performed flaulessly. After a 4 min LSO race on 4s it temped at 119 degrees F. Not too shabby. I am going to disconnect the eternal BEC and run a lipo receiver pack and it should run even cooler. It is the perfect size for the boat. Great choice and price. I received it to Florida in less than 10 days from intl warehouse.It cames without connectors, you must buy them separately and solder them in place. The cables are 12 AWG. I will use this ESC on a Pursuit.Nothing but the best from turnigy , will be ordering there aquastar 200a to run 8s-10s in my genesis . Very pleased with my 120a esc stays cool and doesnet dissapoint :)I LOVE expensive FIRES ON BOATS while on 40 - 50 Km/h. Well this is what this ESC did on mine.
To the point:
Well the esc cannot be used at the stated ratings. I used it with a 6s setup and a 80 A max motor. ESC burned up after 3 x 6 min sessions in consecutive days. The temperature of the ESC never exceeded 30-40deg when I checked it after a fast run. .I would say safely maximum 4s setup on 80 A.
Brought 8 of these now had one faulty one that lasted a setup then died. Run these on 5s using Bec no problems. I have installed these into two twin powered cats. Have used these in the outerlimits on 5s with 40mm prop. Run boat flat out full throttle for 3 mins esc and motor came in cold I start on zero timing then work up from there also remove low voltage as this can case some issuesI use 3 of this in different boats and I always used the internal BEC. Up to 5S I had no problems. Whith 6S the ESC explodet at the first full throotle and destroyed my 500 Boat.
No over temp no over current protection worked. I am not sure if this is related to the use of the internal BEC.Most of the international Race Boat Pilots prefer this ESC .
I used it for 2 Years in a 6s 120Km/h setup w a Tenshok motor.
I had to install stronger condensers 4x 470 uF with 35V directly sold to the main wires , otherwise the Motor stuttered .
Sadly the ESC gave up the last days because the BEC burned and defected the whole ESC.
I ran it already with Ubec (a need over 3s).Therefore I deinstalled the red wire.
But even then the internal BEC is working and damaged the ESC.
There should be a jumper to disconnect the whole BEC while not needed in the setup.
Even then its one of the beste ESC to get on the market !Great esc,, running on 5s,, 28mm jet drive and a 3660SL 3180kv Brushless Inrunner ,,
