The Turnigy TY-P1 25Amp ESC is a stand out performer. Using quality IR HEXFET® Power MOSFETs developed in the USA, this ESC is cable of handling current draw in excess of 40 amps. However this in house designed ESC was developed and produced by the HobbyKing engineering team with one goal in mind, quality and reliability. Rather than over rate the ESC and push it to the limit with a larger heat-sink, as many companies do, we wanted to design a Speed controller for those looking for a bullet proof solution. We use SMT technology rather than hand soldering to produce consistent  quality and reliability each and every time. The TY-P1 25A ESC also features independent voltage regulators (One for the BEC and one for the MCU) this ensures the MCU will remain powered in the event of a high momentary amp draw from the BEC circuit and vise versa. An XT-60 battery connector and 3.5mm bullet connectors have been pre-soldered for convenience.

Tought it was broken, but is didn't calibrate it... normally you don't have to wait so long to calibrate it but its ok. Actually these are pretty nice

I actually have 17 of these in various multirotor aircraft that have worked perfectly for years now. They are reflashed with SimonK firmware. These were bought some time ago. I bought one recently that did burn out when setting up a FPV plane, I think it was a bad solder joint either on the esc or on one of the extensions I was using because the motor kicked back and forth when trying to power up and that's a sure sign of a bad connection.

I actually have 17 of these in various multirotor aircraft that have worked perfectly for years now. They are reflashed with SimonK firmware. These were bought some time ago. I bought one recently that did burn out when setting up a FPV plane, I think it was a bad solder joint either on the esc or on one of the extensions I was using because the motor kicked back and forth when trying to power up and that's a sure sign of a bad connection.

The moment I plugged this in it blew up.

I can't recommend this product to anyone. Please avoid this product.

I had some test flights (5mins?) with my new quadcopter and these ESCs yesterday. After some KK2.1 parameter tuning today, I went to field to test new configuration. Right after plugging in the battery (Turnigy 2200mAh, 3S), I noticed some propeller movement, spark sounds from the esc AND SMOKE FROM THE ESC! Esc warmed a bit and is for sure broken.

Please note: the esc burned right after plugging in the battery. No throttle, no overload.

Now I am considering whether I should replace all my ESCs because if one burns like this, others may also. Next one might burn the flight controller and/or motors, if this one already didn't...
