Momsen skal ned I dk foer vi gaar konkursI bought a mixed bunch of 390, 393 and 396 servos, initially they were great apart from one failure on arrival. Within a month two more had failed and were replaced. 3 months on and I have 4 more total failures and 2 that are glitching.
Don't buy them!!!Not worth their price.
I have ordered 6 of these servos, at first they look good and sturdy. As some other already mentioned here that the gear train comes with no grease. I decided to open one for inspection. I had the opportunity to check that all the gears are metal, but there was indeed almost no grease on the first one I have checked! I don't know... Maybe they are trying to save on lubricant at the factory? I applied pinion grease everywhere, and it works well. On the next one I opened there was some sort of residue inside that looked more like burnt oil from an IC engine than proper fine grease. I've did my best to clean this and lubricated the pinions. But when I closed the case, the thread broke on one of the insert for the screws.
What a disappointment! These servos are not cheap, but the quality control is so so :(
I will not buy them again.These are the best general purpose servos of this size I have ever used. They are tight and precise and pack a punch with their power. I can run my flight systems off 2S Life batteries without any worries, eliminating BECs as one less potential failure point. Just dismantle and lube the gear train before use to avoid premature wear as these servos come with dried out grease in bearings and gears. I have tried other servos with identical size, case, and gears - different coloured labels - these suckers stand out above them all.Not so good for me. Using on throttle of DLE111 engine with 2s Lipo power. After a few months use mine has become erratic and unreliable. Have looked inside. Very nice looking and seems well made, not much grease on the gears though.
Nevertheless I like it so I'll buy another to try.Nice little servo, bought six of them. Unfortunately accury (center position) is not as expected. One servo had even losses, it sometimes stopped mfollowing signal for a short period of about 5 sec, sent it back.
Recommend to check the servo very carefully and / or use it only for "uncritical" functions.
I have just received and tested 2 of these servos that I intend to use on the elevator and rudder of my Starmax P51 Gunfighter instead of the standard servos that come with it. The box says they are 6-7.4 volts not 7.2 as in the listing. They appear to be good value for the price and appear to be Turnigy branded Blue Bird servos.
The gear train is tight and movement and centreing is precise. The gears come with minimal grease so I have added PTFE white lube to them which I hop will prevent wear.
They are strong although I think it would be a mistake to put them in large heavy planes as this may produce excessive wear in a small gear train. Parts should be available from Blue Bird if needed.
Will update when I have finished the plane (which I am skinning with fine glass - time consuming) and flown them.
Good fast strong servo with a nice tight gear train. I am using these instead of of the almost identical green labelled TGY-390MDH servo which is 8 bucks dearer and comes with a sloppy gear train right out of the box.
Gears need lube prior to installation as factory grease is very sparse and dried out.These are great servos. However they need grease applied to gear train before use or they will quickly develop slop. The assembly lube had dried out and was poorly applied. Most of the teeth were dry as a bone - no trace of grease at all.
