nice to flyFirst maiden flight my AT6 today, It just fill with tremendous power with the my upgraded ver of 1450kv, 7x4 props, 1300Amh. You can chose it to be fast, slow, roll.. and not much trimming needed. Half throttle throughout 8min flight time. It was an awesome! Discovered that you need to gain power when hand launching,turning & landing with some power too!This plane love a little nose heavy, seems like 1300Amh is just right for the plane CG. I received this with little damage other than the pilot seat being slightly cracked. Hinges on control surfaces are the best I've seen on HK planes. I'll replace the wheels with much larger ones for operation on grass. One star off for seemingly faulty ESC and no programming instructions.Truly a great plane, motor mount stick was loose on arrival, but 5 min epoxy fixed that, landing gear were barely rubber cemented in. Needed 21gr of lead weight in the cowl to balance, but other than that flies like a dream. No bad habits, glides in for final approach, I have been flying this plane since July, and in that time I have managed to only rip the landing gear off on a gental landing, and today, I broke my first prop, that is it for damage. Oh I switched to GWS 9050 props, I felt that the stock prop did not pull hard enough, did not have a watt meter at that time, just a gut feeling, but the 9050 prop works great. If you want a nice putting around plane, this is it. Flying mine on stock set up with 2 cell 1600's.Received in good condition except that pilot seat was broken (looks like that the reason was a defect in packaging - the foam has been broken by the weight of the plane and it moved during the transportation)
Materials and build quality are quite average:
* cowling is so thin that it breaks after the first hard landing
* chassis glue was weak (torn off after the first landing) and wheels tend to jam all the way
At the same time, the plane showed itself very durable and easy to fix.
