Not 100% accurate but works solidly.

Nov 26, 2020

I purchased 2 of these to uses with various Orange receivers but mainly to test the current which one of my helicopters was drawing.
I connected them both (one at a time) to a fixed wing model and with my Turnigy Power Meter at the same time. The Power Meter read 48 Amps and the sensor was reporting 38 Amps via telemetry!!
Both did the same.
I then connected a smaller fixed wing model to both the sensor and my Digital Multi Meter set to read current. This had the MMM showing 8 Amps and the sensor 6.
So, I could use the sensors to spot when I was drawing too much current by noting the 'standard' load figure and looking for a far higher current draw but I wouldn't trust it to test a set-up before selecting the correct size of ESC.
However, small light, useful and reliable (to date) and at this price, feel like I stole them.

Unstable

Nov 07, 2019

Very unstable, used the sensor plugged into an orange short range telemetry unit feeding a spektrum Rx. The display on the Spektrum Dx 9 was very unstable on the Tx display and when recorded onto an SD card and viewed on the spektrum TLM viewer the trend was jumping all over the place at constant throttle positions during testing. Think this was caused by noise from the ESC. Showed min and max values fine.

It is always good to know how much current you draw in flight.

Great product for measuring amp draw and wattage for a power system. Also great for checking battery health and the remaining capacity percentage is very handy. But there are no markings on the case to say which way to plug in the balance leads of the battery so if you plug it in upside down with the battery plugged in it will short the battery. Otherwise a very nice product.

Great to know the amp draw of the drone to ensure the greatest efficiency. Works great with the orange receivers. I unsoldered the plugs and soldered wires directly to the board to save weight. The signal plug on the board can be flimsy when plugging and unplugging the signal wires. Works well and seems to be very accurate.
