Why is it that this engine is no longer available (I can understand why it may not be manufactured anymore) but why is the recommended alternative a 26cc engine that is much bigger and heavier than this engine and not suitable at all as a replacement. with this engines lightweight and size it was perfect for sticking in 60 size planes and even some of the bigger 40s.. but the rcg26cc SHOULD NOT be recommended as an alternative. Is hobbyking doing anything about getting a 15-20cc engine with comparable light weight to replace this one as this would have been the gas engine I would have bought. (nothing compares to 650gram weight and handheld size for a gasser) damn :(

What a great little engine, pulls an APC 17X6 almost 9 grand, right out of the box. Easy start and easy adjustment. DLE is without a doubt the Chinese class act for ALL other gas engines to follow. I have the 50 and 55 also and they beat the competition hands down. Next project may include and 30cc DLE, since I like that size plane so much. Mounted mine on a GP U-Can-Do .60 using a World Models beam 1.20 mount. The recommended Dubro alum mount was too wide to fit the narrow air frame. The plane actually came out toward the tail heavy limit. Had to move both batteries way forward to balance at the recommended 4.75". Unlimited performance, WOW. Better get them back in stock soon HK or business could shop elsewhere. Reputation is everything and DLE has a great one!!

I will use this engine on a Thunderbolt airplane.

This is my first project with a gasoline engine, after many years of glow projects.

My question is: Can I use a gasoline engine on an inverted position? Will I find problems by doing that? Any special recommendation?

Thanks,

Carlos.

Ran the engine with a Zinger 16 X6 prop it needed some richening of the needles, once it got fuel it came to life, runs well and idles well, initial RPM was exceeding 8000 with this prop. Will get a bit more time on it and then see what it can do. Looks very promising after a few initial runs.. I'd buy more.....

I have just received my DLE20 from hobbyking. The engine is suitable for up to 120 sized (4.5 kg total) planes. The manual states that the engine is adjusted to 1.5 turns for high and 1.1 turns to low idle or avarage setting that should work on most places but.... mine has come with all way closed high end needle and adjusted low nedle-check before first run-. Also the intake was stucked which the engine didnt suck fuel till i remove the carb and clean all the carb and inlets in the engine. After all the engine run very powerfull and idles perfectly. I put it on Sebart Katana S120 and the angine has power to pull the plane out from the hover vell.
