Greg French (owner of Fatshark FPV) used the 2016 US Drone Racing Nationals to unveil his newest offering. He calls it the Fatshark Dominator SE (Limited Special Edition) and it is beautiful! Its black and orange design reminds me of the Bugatti Veyron SS, but don't let that fool you. This product won't cost an arm and a leg. Similar specs to the Dominator HDV2 but at around $200 less. This should put it in the $349USD ballpark. It's also being offered with a spironet antenna making it a first for FatShark (normally FatShark only includes dipoles).

The Dominator SE features a 0.44" VGA LCD display set to provide large Field Of View (FOV) goggles at a fraction of the price of the popular HDV2, used by most of the top racing pilots around the world. Using analog video the image quality difference between the Dominator HDV2 and the Dominator SE will be almost imperceptible. The orange and black colour scheme makes these goggles stand out in the crowd.

Fatshark has included the latest DVR technology with these goggles. Automatic file saving even if you forget to stop recording before disconnecting your battery.

In terms of battery, it comes with a 2S 1000mAh however it is compatible with a 3S lipo. Word on the street is that a nice high capacity battery is on the way from an after-market manufacturer (more on that to come).

This is my first fat shark goggles, and being a quanum diy v2 user I am blown away by the immersive experience the se provides. The image is massive in the se as opposed to the tv down the hallway look from the diy v2. Love the fact that it comes with an spiro antennna and reciever. Powered it up and instantly picked up the signal from my quanum elite 600mw tx. Dvr works great. Build quality is great. This whole kit is great! Ready to use right out of the box. The only con is that because of my small bridged Asian nose, it doesn't fill the gap causing light leaks. Not really noticeable when it's powered on unless you're looking for it. Not a big deal to me, I'm sure fat shark designed these to be as universal as possible, I just fell under the gap. I cut out some foam and didn't even have to glue it, the Velcro from the goggles held it in place. Litteraly a one min fix.

I've bought those glasses, I find them fantastic but had a very annoying problem. The faceplate is different from the V3 and my nose doesn't fit, I see a lot of blur if I try to be comfortable with my nose and I have to move them downward to see clearly, which opens a gap around the nose and is very uncofortable. I had to swap the faceplate from the V3 to the SE so I can wear them correctly. So if you have a big nose and still want the SE, buy one of the faceplate upgrade for the V2 which suits the SE.
