This is a big improvement over the 1000mah original Fat Shark battery. Over time the headband would stretch and the dog-bone style battery would have trouble staying in place (at least for me), and I was always slightly annoyed by the balance lead just hanging out there. On top of that, in just a matter of a couple of months my original began to separate the casing and I discovered one of the cells had puffed up significantly, and I was only getting about 20 minutes of charge. With all those woes, I saw these were being released and picked one up and I have been very impressed.

The casing is very nice, construction is solid. The larger battery still fits well (though it's a much tighter fit, which is good in my opinion), and the added battery light indicator on the top is awesome. No more guessing and constantly having to check the voltage on my battery throughout the day with an external checker! Plus, there's a little slot for the balance lead to fit in now so it stays tucked away and protected. I flew for a couple hours (forgetting to turn off the headset a few times even) and it was only down one "bar" (8.08v when I checked). No complaints there! And finally... the price is so close to the other smaller size, this seems like a no brainer if you're not using your own 2s solution.
