I thought I'd be very happy with this ceramic knife, but it didn't seem very sharp. I took a closer look, and the blade was only ground on one side, not both. No wonder it isn't even as sharp as a metal #11 blade.

I don't know if they're all made this way, or if I got a defective blade. I'd be interested to know. I was hoping to use this to fix my bass speakers, which need new foam inserts. The old foam needs to be carefully cut out. But I won't be using this blade at all.

I received the knife some 30 days ago. Just in time to put the trim on a pylon racer. Normally I have to change blades multiple times during trim work. Not this one. I was using a plastic straight edge until i cut through it. So I used my carpenters level. While cutting I was looking at something peeling off of the trim coating. Nope, I was cutting a thin sliver of aluminum from my level. And still the knife stays sharp! The blade can be resharpened if you use an 800 grit or finer diamond hone and go slowly. I like my ceramic knife!

Initial impression was, how on earth is this going to cut anything its a blunt a me ,,, then I realised the blade was in backwards for safety.

Quick flip over and boy its sharp, slicing through paper with ease. The blade is about twice as thick as a scalpel blade which raises a problem. While it cuts through balsa with ease the thick bade does tend to stick in thicker sheets. I didn't try it on thin ply or lite ply

I tested in on film and here it excelled giving nice cuts both for trimming and edging, I shall keep mine especially for covering and durability of the blade for this task will dictate whether its good value of not.
