My tip, if u order this servo, take this replacement kit also.
Servo itself is unbelievable fast and strong, with a better quality of the gear set, it would be perfect. So HK, take two or three dollars more and deliver a better longlife quality, the servo it's worth it.This is a follow up to my previous review. After stripping the gears, Ive gotten myself the replacement gears for the 11.8kg Mi Digital servo (HK47XX-G-T ) and it fits very well and works! I believe now my servo is now transformed into a 11.8KG 0.07sec Mi Servo! Ive measured the gears and they are indeed different, producing more speed at the expense of torque. What I like about the replacement gears is that it have bigger 3rd gear which have better contact area than the original smaller 3rd gear which most likely caused the ease of stripping the 4th gear. So, for those who had stripped their 15.2KG Mi, don't just throw it away! Get the 11.8KG Mi's replacement gears and bring your servo back alive!Straight to the point review - Good, works well, however on my 5th casual run, a touch-knock caused it to fail and the damage is to the bell-type gear. This particular gear is made with very high pitch gear teeth which resulted in the ease of damage. I had bought 4 pieces of HK15298 so far and they have taken brutalities far more and far longer than this Mi servo. Those 4 HK15298 are still going strong and unless there is an improved replacement gear for this, I will stick back to HK15298 and do not recommend this servo to anyone who needs it for 1/8 surface applications.Awful servo, a ton of slop on a spline and gears are made of incredibly soft cheap steel - I ordered 2 of this servos and both of them stripped on very first run.This is AMAZING! it's so quick! I use it in my Kyosho MP9 TKI2. I used to use a Sanwa (Airtronics) ERG-VZ, which was supposed to be quick already, but this HK servo wins hands down. I run on a Life-Po receiver pack. Low noise, high power, and doesn't drain my battery as fast as the Bluebird BMS 862 which I use on my ST-RR truggy. I originally bought this to be a spare servo... turns out it's better than any of the expensive stuff, i.e. Savox, Futaba, Hitec out there.Very quick and strong servo for my Mugen MBX6 Eco! The torque is OK and the speed is just amazing. Very appreciated until now... after 10packs trough it, the gears stripped... still not disappointed though, as it performs very good compared to other servos in the same price range :)
