Guys this is a great motor, BUT, you need to read instructions.
14x7 is max prop size for 3s

I tried 12x8 on 3s and it's pulling 1900Gr on 30A
14x7 on 3s is definitely right on the 36A limit on 3s.
There is a 28A limit on 4s and a 22A limit on 5s.
of course if I am pulling 30A on 3s on a 12x8,
that means that propeller is way too big for 4s operation.
You need a 10x4.7 or 11x4.7 on 4s NOTHING bigger than this,
otherwise you risk overheating, and if it overheats it loses magnets etc.
Perfect motor, but guys do buy an Amp meter before going overboard with the prop size recommandations

When my motor arrived i wasnt really sure if its quality was good enough to trust it. I used it on a X-8 flying wing weighted 3.7kg (almost 8 pounds) with a 12x6 prop. It flew like a dream with a maximum consumption of 30 amps at full throttle. The battery was 4cell 5000mah turnigy nano. At travel speed it drew 10 amps. Unfortunately at maiden my wing end up in the sea (spiral dive stall). I will get a new ESC and i will test to see if it's working. Overall i am very pleased from the motor and i sure i will buy it again if it comes back on stock. For now i am hopping the bearings will not rust due to sea water. After check i will post again.

i have been a hobbyking customer for a very long time and i have never been disappointed. i m using this motor in a sig lt40, and it flies much much better as an electric than a glow powered airplane. this was a conversion from glow to electric, and now i have all of my planes converted to electric, and every one of them has all hobbyking ''stuff'' and all of it has worked without any problem with any of the components. the motor and all of its components have worked flawlessly. no reason to go anywhere else because it i all here. and now that the U.s. house is open im even more happier!!!! thanks....tom

I put this motor in my (originally Saito 100FS glow powered) Hanger 9 65"ws P-47 Thunderbolt. I am using a APC 15x6 Electric Prop and running two 4 Cell LiPo 30C batteries in parallel. Plenty of power and everything runs pretty cool. I keep my flight times short for personal reasons however this setup with a 60amp speed controller gives plenty of flight time. I could have in fact only used one battery but the plane needs the nose weight so I decided to make the weight funtional. Good motor and considering the price you can't go wrong here.

Bought this motor, on first inspection noticed excessive radial play in one end of the shaft. Disassembled the motor to find one bearing loose in the housing bore. Housing was bored too big for the diameter of the bearings outer race. Hard to believe no one noticed this at the factory. Very poor quality! Just wasted $29.65.

I use this in a L-4 Grasshopper 1400mm EPO (PNF), and i must say, it is very good. I just love it. Plenty of power and runs very well. I use a 12X8 propeller and got a trust of 1,9 kg with 4 cells battery.

Using this on a 3DHS 51in A.J. Slick with 4S 3000 25C Turnigy nanotec, 15x7 APC it draws 60 Amps = 850 watts.

Hovers at 1/2 throttle, goes vertical like a rocket with full throttle. Using 1500-1800mAH for 6 mins of 3D flight.

Excellent motor for this plane.
