Motor mounted in a Hanger 9 Fokker D-VII. Turning a 17x12E APC with 8S, 4000mha pack. Motor pulls 870w at 5300rpm and flys the plane very well. Not too fast and has scale performance. Other test values with different props:

16x12E 800w 5500rpm

15x13E 660w 5700rpm

17x10 750w 5600rpm

18x10 880w 5400rpm

I suspect that the suggested 19x12 prop will pull close to 1200w with 8S, not so sure I'd use 10S with that prop.

Great motor for my 26pcnt Peak MXS-R. With 2x5s3000 Zippies and a 20x10 JXF it pulls about 52A. Almost 2kW!. It runs a bit warn/hot, must add some baffles for better cooling. Only issues so far are:
1. A bit sloppy bearings, replaced with ceramic Abec7.
2. Stator came loose, strange noise after landing. Re-glued with 24h epoxy. Works fine now. Might be due to overtemp....

This is one is equvilent to AXI5320/34. Would whish for a bit more powerfull motor, but the a63-20L and 24L is are bit too heavy. A "a63-24M" (i.e. an AXI 5325/24 clone) would have been perfect.
Please HK, offer something inbetween S and L.

I bought this for my Hangar 9 Sopwith Camel which needs the noseweight. On 8S it spins an 18" propeller fast enough to fly the Camel comfortably. The motor is cool after landing but I don't remember how much current it drew. I get almost 40 minutes duration with a 8S 5000 mAh battery.

My motor has surface rust on the shaft but that doesn't matter. It's fantastic value for the money.

Great Motor for 20" props

Nov 14, 2007

This is a great motor but I have a couple of small complaints. Firstly, it is heavier than the specified 460g. It weighs 535g on its own, and 680g with all of its accessories. Secondly, I had to file a couple of grooves out of the flange mounted prop adaptor to clear the grub screws. Otherwise, once I got it running it was a great performer!

On 6S LiPo cells, with a 20x13 electric prop, it pulled 3,570g using 810W of power.
