I was a bit disappointed with a couple of things. I didn't like the OD w/white dappling so I pulled all the covering off and recovered with gray Monokote. Looks much better. No decals included in kit. Why is front wheel axle threaded? The included FG wing spar is twice as long as can be used. I think I will drill a hole (blindly) in a wing rib and file/sand it so the spar will extend into the wing a bit farther. Right now you would have to cut the spar in half to be able to get the wings on. I am planning on using a 450 motor and I will need to make a new firewall/mounting plate for it. If you want nose gear steering, where does the battery go? I will make a platform to hold the battery above the steering servo. I am also going to make a bomb drop and camera pod.

The parcel arrived in good nick. No damage.
Flew my Grim today. The build took about 5 hours. The following mods had to happen to make it work:
- The servo slots in the wings can be marked properly. I cut into the solar film and missed the ply slot by 10mm.
- The servo slots in the nose for the v-tail can be moved back into the fuselage to allow more space in the nose for the battery and other electronics. The canopy frame had to be modified to fit over the connected pushrods and servos. Duh...
-The nose wheel is not steerable and there is not much space to get it steerable.
-By turning the servos in the nose around(Arms closest to the leading edge) gives you abit more space in the nose - you need to reverse the channels to get the same action on the servos.
-The push rods are crap. I replaced them. You can not put a Z-bend in them. They break.
-I've been unable to get the crincles out of the solar film. I do not want to work it too much - fear of damage.
-The V-tail rods entry points are not marked properly.
-Please note that a 9" prop for this model is too big. You will have prop strike on takeoff. I purchased 2 on reccomendation and they do not work. You can hand launch and land deadstick, maybe then.
Yeah, Grim is going onto the ceiling - great ornamental value.

I would not reccomend this model for the FPV pilot. There is not enough space for the electronics. The canopy is

You do not require a pusher prop, just reverse the motor! It flies well and looks really sinister in the air.

It will tip stall at low speed so:

1. /-6mm throw on controls is plenty.

2. A little up bias on the ailerons helps.

3. Don't try to stretch the landing, keep the speed up.

Do not glue in the wing joiner as suggested in instruction book. It breaks easily and will be a devil to repair if glued in. I left mine loose and fitted small hooks (into wooden blocks inserted into wing behind spar near wing root). A couple of rubber bands hold the wings in place.

Hi I ordered 2 aircraft is the last 3 weeks MQ-9 Reaper Fiberglass 2500mm which has a nice finish and Predator UAV 74in Spy Plane which was very disappointing it had parts missing and the film covering the airframe is poorly put on, one of the wings didnt have the last rib cut out to get the servo wire to it. I have also looked at the way v-tail and main wings are secured and do believe there is a good chance the wings could snap off if presser is placed on them. There is a simple solution to reinforcing the main wings and also added steering to the front wheel.

I have received my first plane. It is the very first plane that I own in my life. I achieved to setup the plane after a few unsuccessful trials. I post a file named "Predator Basic Setup" in the "Files" section. Someone can edit it to meet the most suitable model or even delete it. Any way, I saw my first plane flying in the wind. Thanks a lot HK.
